Uh oh, Elmo! U.S. ends funding for Pakistani Sesame Street over corruption allegations

Why the hell was the U.S. Government spending $ 20 MILLION dollars to develop a Pakistani version of Elmo !!!!!?? I didn't know that after 3 freaking "bailouts" they still had some "pocket-money" to throw around like that. I guess Leon Panetta forgot to send out the memo that the U.S. is actually at war with Pakistan (http://www.infowars.com/panetta-admits-that-us-is-at-war-in-pakistan/) , but I guess they can spend a measly $ 20 MIL on Elmo.

The U.S. has terminated funding for a $20 million project to develop a Pakistani version of Sesame Street, the U.S. Embassy said on Tuesday.

The decision came as a Pakistani newspaper reported allegations of corruption by the local puppet theater working on the initiative.

The organization in question is the Rafi Peer Theater Workshop, a group in the city of Lahore that jointly developed the show with Sesame Workshop, the creator of the American series.
