UK government bans GMOs from its own Parliament restaurants while telling public to embrace genetic poisons

UK government bans GMOs from its own Parliament restaurants while telling public to embrace genetic poisons

(NaturalNews) Since the mid-to-late 1990s when genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) were first being thrust onto the market by governments working in lockstep with the biotechnology industry, the U.K. Parliament has effectively barred their use in all food items served to government officials at Parliament restaurants, according to new reports. This, despite the fact that prominent elected officials in the U.K. are right now pushing GMOs on a public that is largely opposed to them, effectively shining the spotlight on their own insane hypocrisy with regards to the GMO issue.

As recently reported by the U.K.'s Daily Mail, news of the Parliament's ban on GMOs at its own restaurants comes amid the procurement of a massive pro-GMO propaganda campaign being led by this very same Parliament against the interests of its own people. Biotech industry hacks like Conservative Secretary of State for the Environment Owen Paterson, for instance, who actually claims GMOs are safer than non-GMOs, is currently pushing for more GMO acceptance in his country even though he does not eat GMOs himself.

Paterson, who regularly dines on only the highest quality non-GMO fare at fancy Parliament restaurants like the Portcullis House and the Pavilion buffet, is quoted as blaming starvation in third world countries on widespread rejection of GMOs in the U.K. and elsewhere. Resistance to GM "Golden Rice," for instance, is apparently the reason why millions of children have gone blind or died, according to Paterson, whose vehement advocacy of GMOs borders on maniacal.

"Over the last 15 years, despite offering the seeds for free to those who would need them, every attempt to deploy this Golden Rice has been thwarted," exclaimed Paterson in a recent nonsensical statement. Completely untrue in every sense, as Golden Rice has never been approved anywhere, nor has it ever been offered for free to any country, Paterson's fantasy views reflect the same lunatic sentiments as those held by many others in the Parliament, who themselves have opposed GMOs from the very beginning.

Sanctimonious government officials order the people to do as they say, not as they do

In essence, the common folk are basically expected to openly embrace untested GMOs while their overlords in government gorge on all-natural foods that have not been shown to cause cancerous tumors, digestive destruction, and other major health problems. This is further evidenced by a recent statement put forth by the company that prepares and serves food for the Parliament, which admits that Parliament members do not personally want to ingest GMOs.

"In line with its procurement policy, the House of Commons Catering Service avoids, wherever identifiable, the procurement of foods that contain genetically modified organisms," reads a statement by the U.K. Parliament's food supplier. "To this end, as part of the tendering process, food suppliers are required to work to a strict GM organisms policy and give assurances that goods supplied be free from genetically modified materials," adds the group, noting that "customer choice" is responsible for keeping GMOs out of Parliament cafeterias.

In other words, GMOs are unacceptable for the self-appointed elite in the highest ranks of the government, who have decided to personally reject them in favor of real food. But for everyone else, GMOs are needed to end world hunger, save the planet, and return the global ecosystem to some type of Garden of Eden where nobody goes hungry and everybody lives forever, or something along these farcical lines.

"GM crops are not the solution to the food challenges we face," says Clare Oxborrow from Friends of the Earth, countering the blatant dissimulation being propagated by corrupt individuals like Paterson. "They are largely being developed to benefit multinational biotech firms that are gaining control of the seed industry, not to feed poor people in developing countries. World food production needs a radical overhaul, but this should be based on less intensive practices that increase agricultural diversity, deliver resilience to the impacts of climate change and benefit local communities."

Why Does the Government Need Guillotines? (Yes, you read that right)

Why Does the Government Need Guillotines?

by Dave Hodges -  thecommonsenseshow.com
Sherrie Wilcox standing by FEMA coffins outside of Atlanta
Sherrie Wilcox photo of FEMA coffins outside of Atlanta
When retired FBI agent, the now deceased Ted Gunderson, reportedly told a gathering of militia members that the federal government had set up 1,000 internment camps across the country, I had no trouble believing his statement because there is ample documentation to support his statement (e.g. REX 84, Operation Garden Plot and now the NDAA). However, when Gunderson reported that the federal government was storing over 500,000 caskets outside of Atlanta, I also knew he was accurate on this point because Sherrie Wilcox found the evidence in the adjacent photo. However, when I heard that Gunderson was accusing the government of storing 30,000 guillotines, I thought he had lost his mind.

Why Would the Government Want to Store Guillotines?

Gunderson told various patriot groups that the guillotines were being stored for the day that the government declares martial law and moves in to round up and execute American dissenters. Gunderson prophetically told patriot groups that the federal government was going to keep track of all of us. The last statement has indeed proven accurate given the recent Snowden/NSA scandal.
Can somebody please explain to me why the government would need to order 30,000 guillotines? For what legitimate purpose could these tools of execution be utilized?

IRS sends $46 million in 'tax refunds' to thousands of illegal aliens all claiming the same Atlanta address

IRS sends $46 million in 'tax refunds' to thousands of illegal aliens all claiming the same Atlanta address

(NaturalNews) It is the responsibility of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to collect the taxes which fund the government, but increasingly, the agency appears to be one of the worst abusers of the money it collects from hard-pressed taxpayers.

Recent reports have documented the spendthrift habits of many mid-level and senior IRS supervisors. Now comes news that the agency is sending tax refunds to tens of thousands of "unauthorized" alien workers all using the same Atlanta, Ga., address.

In 2011, the IRS sent 23,994 tax refunds worth a combined $46,378,040 to the address in question, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) has discovered. Per CNSNews.com:

That was not the only Atlanta address theoretically used by thousands of "unauthorized" alien workers receiving millions in federal tax refunds in 2011. In fact, according to a TIGTA audit report published last year, four of the top ten addresses to which the IRS sent thousands of tax refunds to "unauthorized" aliens were in Atlanta.

How many millions to 'unauthorized' aliens?

Maybe now it is easier to understand why Georgia lawmakers recently passed and Gov. Nathan Deal signed legislation cracking down on illegal immigrants in the state, much to the chagrin of "civil rights activists" who obviously believe American taxpayers should be fleeced by those who snuck into our country, in violation of our laws.

According to the TIGTA, the IRS sent 11,284 refunds totaling $2,164,976 to illegal alien workers at a second Atlanta address; 3,608 worth $2,691,448 to a third; and 2,386 worth $1,232,943 to a fourth.

But there is much more. Per CNSNews.com:

Other locations on the IG's Top Ten list for singular addresses that were theoretically used simultaneously by thousands of unauthorized alien workers, included an address in Oxnard, Calif, where the IRS sent 2,507 refunds worth $10,395,874; an address in Raleigh, North Carolina, where the IRS sent 2,408 refunds worth $7,284,212; an address in Phoenix, Ariz., where the IRS sent 2,047 refunds worth $5,558,608; an address in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., where the IRS sent 1,972 refunds worth $2,256,302; an address in San Jose, Calif., where the IRS sent 1,942 refunds worth $5,091,027; and an address in Arvin, Calif., where the IRS sent 1,846 refunds worth $3,298,877.

And this is just the TIGTA's top 10 locations; the IRS is literally sending who knows how many hundreds of millions of dollars in "refunds" to workers who aren't even supposed to be in the country.

What's more, officials at the agency know full well the legal (or, more correctly, the illegal) status of those receiving these refunds. Beginning in 1996 during the Clinton Administration, the tax agency began issuing ITINs - Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers - to two classes of people. They are 1) aliens who do not have resident status but who otherwise have a tax liability in the U.S.; and 2) aliens living in the U.S. who are "not authorized to work in the United States."

By giving illegal aliens official taxpayer ID numbers the IRS - and by permitting the agency to issue them, Congress is acting as an enabler, fomenting more illegal immigration. Indeed, the Treasury IG's Semiannual Report to Congress, which was published in October 1999, specifically pointed this out:

"The IRS issues Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) to undocumented aliens to improve nonresident alien compliance with tax laws. This IRS practice seems counter-productive to the Immigration and Naturalization Service's (INS) mission to identify undocumented aliens and prevent unlawful alien entry," TIGTA warned in the report, some 14 years ago (http://cnsnews.com).

The most recent IG report regarding the handling of ITINs was triggered by a pair of IRS employees who contacted members of Congress "alleging that IRS management was requiring employees to assign Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN) even when the applications were fraudulent."

In an August 2012 press release, TIGTA said those complaints had been "validated."

38 percent of a single city's population

"TIGTA's audit found that IRS management has not established adequate internal controls to detect and prevent the assignment of an ITIN to individuals submitting questionable applications," said J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for Tax Administration. "Even more troubling, TIGTA found an environment which discourages employees from detecting fraudulent applications."

What is utterly remarkable, however, is the agency's incompetence when it comes to safeguarding your tax dollars. According to the IG's report, the agency assigned 6,411 ITINs to unauthorized aliens who presumably were using a single address in Morganton, N.C. But according to the 2010 census, only 16,681 people lived in that city - meaning that "for the IRS to have been correct in issuing 6,411 ITINS to unauthorized aliens at a single address in Morganton it would have meant that 38 percent of the town's total population were unauthorized alien workers using a single address," CNSNews.com reported.

Elaborate parties. Wasteful spending on ridiculous "training videos." Thousands of dollars apiece for lavish hotel rooms. All while Americans are struggling more and more to pay their taxes and keep their heads above water.

Congress isn't just absent in its oversight role. It is criminally negligent.

Illiterate, rambling defense witness Rachel Jeantel is a victim of brain-damaging mass fluoridation, vaccines and nutrient-depleted foods

Illiterate, rambling defense witness Rachel Jeantel is a victim of brain-damaging mass fluoridation, vaccines and nutrient-depleted foods

(NaturalNews) Watching defense witness Rachel Jeantel testify in the Trayvon Martin trial was horrifying, shocking... disturbing. Here is a 19-year-old high school senior, raised in America and educated in public schools, who is wildly illiterate (she simply cannot read) and who seems unable to speak in coherent sentences. Almost right out of the movie Idiocracy, she makes odd grunting noises and seems to display wild emotional swings, verbal inconsistencies and irrational behavior. See a video of her testimony below.

Not surprisingly, she is being trashed all over the internet by all sorts of people who say she's "speaking Ebonics" or other accusations. But the truth of all this is far deeper and far more disturbing: Rachel Jeantel is actually a VICTIM of our modern-society society of brain-damaging poisons. And chances are that most of the people commenting on Rachel are victims, too, although to a lesser degree (because we're all being poisoned...)

In this article, I'm going to reveal how food and medicine corporations are knowingly and repeatedly poisoned all Americans with a toxic cocktail of brain-damaging substances. Rachel appears to be one of the more severe cases of brain damage caused by these substances, but there are many other victims of all races who have suffered similar fates.

Here's a sample of some of her testimony, so you can observe this for yourself:

How brains of young black women get poisoned

So how does a young black woman like Rachel Jeantel get so poisoned to the point where she can hardly speak coherent sentences?

The answer is found in the multiple chemical exposure theory, which says that while each single chemical might cause only a certain amount of damage by itself -- we'll call that "A" -- and while another single chemical "B" might cause only a certain amount of damage by itself as well, when you combine them you don't get just A+B damage. You get A * B damage. (A multiplied by B).

Typical brain-damaging poisons that a young woman like Rachel Jeantel might encounter include:

• Fluoride - hydrofluosilicic acid industrial chemicals dumped into the water supply

• Carcinogens in fried foods - brain-damaging substances created from the high-heat cooking of starches such as french fries

• Lead - I strongly suspect Rachel has a history of exposure to this brain-damaging heavy metal

• Aspartame - Rachel is likely a diet soda drinker, and diet soda is made with aspartame. Aspartame breaks down into formaldehyde (and other components), a potent neurotoxin that causes brain damage.

• Vaccines - the CDC continues to admit that vaccines contain mercury, one of the most neurotoxic substances known to modern science. Just one injection can cause permanent brain damage.

• Pharmaceuticals - many prescription drugs such as antidepressants actually cause long-term brain chemistry imbalances

On the issue of lead, Rachel's behavior strongly resembles that of a lead-poisoned individual. This isn't just a one-time exposure issue, either: it's a chronic exposure during childhood development issue.

It's possible she actually ate lead paint as a child, for example, if she was living in a much older house where the paint was flaking off. (Lead was removed from paint in 1978, but many homes still contain that lead-based paint.)

Defenders of Rachel Jeantel's behavior are trying to call her brain damage a "cultural difference"

What's also disturbing in all this is that many defenders of Rachel Jeantel are trying to say that "white people just don't understand her cultural difference."

Since when did brain damage become a "cultural difference?" What an insult to blacks! The woman is a victim, folks. She's been poisoned. It is an insult to the black community to insist that "all black people are incoherent." No they aren't, because most people are not brain damaged to that extent. I feel sorry for Jeantel for being the victim of a society full of poisons, and I'm also shocked at how so many people are rushing to her defense and claiming that her illiteracy and incomprehensibility is essentially just "a black thing."

No, it isn't a black thing. It's a brain damage thing. She's a victim, folks, and there are young white victims of the same poisoning who are just as incomprehensible as Jeantel.

Am I the only one who thinks that healthy young black people are naturally intelligent? Because apparently we're now supposed to believe that "all black people talk that way," and that's the most racist thing I've ever heard coming out of the mouths of black folks.

Nutrients that are meant to protect the brain are lacking in common foods

In addition to being poisoned by fluoride, lead, aspartame and vaccines, Jeantel is obviously eating a diet that is completely lacking in the nutrients needed to protect the brain from oxidative damage.

Selenium is the key nutrient here. It's so powerful that it actually stops brain damage from taking place. Because selenium is a trace mineral that's never added back into agricultural fields, it is almost completely missing in mainstream foods.

If you look at Jeantel, you can obviously tell she's a frequent consumer of fast food, and that means she's getting zero selenium. So her brain is completely vulnerable to damage from all the neurotoxins mentioned earlier.

I'm willing to bet that if you take hair samples from Jeantel and have them analyzed, they will show virtually zero selenium.

Her diet is almost certainly devoid of other crucial nutrients for neurological function as well: omega-3 oils, vitamin C, zinc, magnesium, vitamin D and so on. She's eating the "standard American diet" which practically sets you up for severe brain damage when you're exposed to fluoride, aspartame and vaccines.

What happened to Jeantel is happening to more and more children across America

When you watch Jeantel attempt to speak in something resembling coherent sentences, remember that you are watching a victim of institutional poisoning in America. You're also watching the future of America if we don't eliminate all these poisons from our food, medicine and environment.

In fifty years, Jeantel will look like a genius compared to the babbling, incoherent, Idiocracy kids we'll have running around the streets. (A future democratic president will probably make someone like her the Secretary of Education -- that's a reference to Idiocracy, a must-see movie.)

As a society, we are being mass poisoned through our foods, medicines and toxic home construction materials (glues, formaldehyde, etc.) We're being denied real nutrition because the foods available to us are nutrient depleted. And then you've got people out there trying to make everybody think "vitamins might kill you" and therefore you should never supplement your nutrition.

Rachel Jeantel is what you end up with when our children suffer mass exposure to so many poisons: A brain-damaged victim with extremely limited learning capacity and nearly incomprehensible speech, regardless of race or skin color.

Get the poisons out of our food and medicine!

We should pray for people like Jeantel. Even further, we should engage in whatever level of activism it takes to get the poisons out of our food and medicine! Haven't the food companies poisoned enough children yet? Haven't they given enough children autism, or put them into comas?

Where does it end? We are fast heading toward a time when 25% of young boys will be autistic. Just as many young girls will be mentally retarded. The U.S. government is doing absolutely nothing to stop this, and in fact agencies like the USDA and FDA actively defend the food industry poisoning our foods.

Until we stop poisoning our children, this is not going to stop. Rachel Jeantel is the canary in the coal mine, warning us all of the disturbing degree of brain damage that's already being inflicted on our children. She is a victim of institutionalized poisoning.

It's not a culture thing, it's a poison thing. Get it? More than just a witness for the defense, Rachel Jeantel is an exhibit of the consequences of having your food and medicine routinely poisoned with brain-damaging substances.

New EU Plan Will Make Every Bank Account In Europe Vulnerable To Cyprus-Style Wealth Confiscation

New EU Plan Will Make Every Bank Account In Europe Vulnerable To Cyprus-Style Wealth Confiscation

Did you actually believe that they were not going to use the precedent that they set in Cyprus?  On Thursday, EU finance ministers agreed to a shocking new plan that will make every bank account in Europe vulnerable to Cyprus-style bail-ins.  In other words, the wealth confiscation that we just witnessed in Cyprus will now be used as a template for future bank failures all over Europe.  That means that if you have a bank account in Europe, you could wake up some morning and every penny in that account over 100,000 euros could be gone.  That is exactly what happened in Cyprus, and now EU officials plan to do the same thing all over Europe.  For quite a while EU officials insisted that Cyprus was a "special case", but now we see that was a lie.  International outrage over what happened in Cyprus has died down, and now they are pushing forward with what they probably had planned all along.  But why have they chosen this specific moment to implement such a plan?  Are they anticipating that we will see a wave of bank failures soon?  Do they know something that they aren't telling us?

USDA approves horse slaughterhouse to produce meat for human consumption

USDA approves horse slaughterhouse to produce meat for human consumption

(NaturalNews) The next burger you bite into might be a horsemeat burger, thanks to the U.S. government approving horse slaughterhouses to produce meat for human consumption. Valley Meat Co in Roswell, New Mexico, is being green-lighted by the USDA, which will routinely send inspectors to make sure it is slaughtering horses and processing horse meat in a "clean" way.

Additional horse meat plants are expected to be approved by the USDA in Missouri and Iowa. While horse meat can't legally be sold in the USA for human consumption, it can be used in pet food. It may also turn up in the U.S. food supply despite its legal status because it can be sold to Mexico for human consumption, then re-labeled and shipped back into the USA for use as a low-cost meat filler. Horse meat has already been identified in a scandalous food operation in Europe, where meatballs sold throughout European grocery stores were found to be made with horse meat.

Under the Obama administration, horse slaughterhouses became legal again

Horse meat slaughterhouses were banned during the Bush administration, but under President Obama, the ban expired (in 2011), allowing horse meat slaughterhouses to restart operations. Obama says he wants Congress to ban horse meat slaughterhouses in the USA, but then again, Obama says a lot of things he doesn't actually intend to make a reality (closing of Guantanamo, labeling GMOs, making health care free, reducing the budget deficit, etc.).

The USDA says, "it was required by law to issue the grant of inspection because Valley Meat met all federal requirements," reports Reuters, which also says that 130,000 horses are slaughtered each year in Canada and Mexico.

U.S. companies want a piece of that business, it seems, because horses can be acquired for virtually free.

Where horses really come from for meat production

So here's the scary part of this article for those who might be a little squeamish: Most of this horse meat comes from horse owners who decide to have their horses killed for a variety of reasons: illness, injury, or simply economic reasons such as not affording to keep them fed and cared for.

Instead of having the courage to give their own horse a dignified death -- i.e. having the vet administer a lethal injection, saying a prayer and burying it on the land it enjoyed -- many owners call the slaughterhouse to have the horse hauled away and subjected to a terrifying, gruesome death in a meat packing plant, surrounded by other screaming horses who are in the process of being murdered.

Horse slaughterhouses are therefore able to purchase these horses for a dollar amount that's far below the actual cost to raise a horse. The horses are transported to the slaughterhouse facility (which is actually the largest cost of the entire thing due to fuel prices) and then their throats are slit to begin the "processing" of the meat.

Yep, Becky's little pony that she grew up with as a teenage girl ends up bleeding out on the floor of a horse slaughterhouse in New Mexico. When expensive family pets are no longer needed, they're just sold off for meat.

Keep that in mind if you're considering buying a horse for your teen daughter or granddaughter. What will happen to that horse once your daughter loses interest in raising horses after discovering that raising a horse requires a tremendous amount of physical labor?

If you're a horse owner, be a responsible one. Don't let your horse get slaughtered for food. Because if you do, you not only cause your horse to experience a terrifying ending; you also may end up eating your horse the next time you whip up some spaghetti and meatballs.

NYPD Cop Arrests Man for Photographing Police Station from Public Sidewalk

Randall Thomas told Photography is Not a Crime he was taking photos to prepare for an upcoming trial stemming from a January arrest in which police deleted his footage after he had recorded them making an abusive arrest.
Not that any of that was the cop’s business who harassed him Saturday for taking photos outside the Police Service Area 3 Housing Bureau in Brooklyn.
Thomas was placed in a cell and held for almost an hour before he was released with two citations for disorderly conduct, one for blocking traffic, the other for obscene language – as if that is not protected by the First Amendment.
Regardless, the video Thomas recorded with his smartphone shows he did not block traffic nor use obscene language in his interaction with Officer Soto, which begins at 4:30.
Soto obviously had no idea Thomas was video recording with his handheld smartphone as he was taking photos with his DSLR because he most likely would have deleted the footage considering it proves he is a liar.
“You’re making a lot of people very uncomfortable,” Soto tells Thomas, who was standing in front of a gated entrance to a parking lot where cars were coming in and out. ”We don’t know who you are.”
“How do I know you’re not a terrorist taking pictures of the building so you can find out where you’re going to put a bomb,” he continues, oblivious to the fact that Google Earth will probably reveal every nook and cranny of that building to anybody in the world with an internet connection.
“If you think I’m a terrorist, then you’re an idiot and you shouldn’t be a police officer because you’re incompetent,” Thomas responds.
“I got nothing but eight-and-a-half hours so I’ll follow you around and stand right in front of you”, Soto states, crossing his arms defiantly. “And that’s not a crime.”
“It’s a waste of taxpayer’s money but it’s not a crime,” Thomas responds.
“Fine, I’m getting paid, you’re not. I’ll stand out here all day,” Soto states.
Soto keeps taunting him before finally arresting him at 8:20 in the video.
Thomas, who has been arrested several times in New York City for taking photos, including one time when he was arrested by Homeland Security in 2009, has already filed a complaint with the King County District Attorney Civil Rights and Police Integrity Bureau & Corruption Bureau as well as the Commission to Combat Police Corruption.

FBI Document—“[DELETED]” Plots to Kill Occupy Leaders “If Deemed Necessary”

Would you be shocked to learn that the FBI apparently knew that some organization, perhaps even a law enforcement agency or private security outfit, had contingency plans to assassinate peaceful protestors in a major American city — and did nothing to intervene?

Photo: Red Flag News

By Dave Lindorff
Who What Why
June 29, 2013

Would you be surprised to learn that this intelligence comes not from a shadowy whistle-blower but from the FBI itself – specifically, from a document obtained from Houston FBI office last December, as part of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by the Washington, DC-based Partnership for Civil Justice Fund?

To repeat: this comes from the FBI itself. The question, then, is: What did the FBI do about it?

The Plot

Remember the Occupy Movement? The peaceful crowds that camped out in the center of a number of cities in the fall of 2011, calling for some recognition by local, state and federal authorities that our democratic system was out of whack, controlled by corporate interests, and in need of immediate repair?
That movement swept the US beginning in mid-September 2011. When, in early October, the movement came to Houston, Texas, law enforcement officials and the city’s banking and oil industry executives freaked out  perhaps even more so than they did in some other cities. The push-back took the form of violent assaults by police on Occupy activists, federal and local surveillance of people seen as organizers, infiltration by police provocateurs—and, as crazy as it sounds, some kind of plot to assassinate the “leaders” of this non-violent and leaderless movement.
But don’t take our word for it. Here’s what the document obtained from the Houston FBI, said:
An identified [DELETED] as of October planned to engage in sniper attacks against protestors (sic) in Houston, Texas if deemed necessary. An identified [DELETED] had received intelligence that indicated the protesters in New York and Seattle planned similar protests in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin, Texas. [DELETED] planned to gather intelligence against the leaders of the protest groups and obtain photographs, then formulate a plan to kill the leadership via suppressed sniper rifles. (Note: protests continued throughout the weekend with approximately 6000 persons in NYC. ‘Occupy Wall Street’ protests have spread to about half of all states in the US, over a dozen European and Asian cities, including protests in Cleveland (10/6-8/11) at Willard Park which was initially attended by hundreds of protesters.)

Occupiers Astounded—But Not Entirely

Paul Kennedy, the National Lawyers Guild attorney in Houston who represented a number of Occupy Houston activists arrested during the protests, had not heard of the sniper plot, but said, “I find it hard to believe that such information would have been known to the FBI and that we would not have been told about it.”  He then added darkly, “If it had been some right-wing group plotting such an action, something would have been done. But if it is something law enforcement was planning, then nothing would have been done. It might seem hard to believe that a law enforcement agency would do such a thing, but I wouldn’t put it past them.”
He adds, “The use of the phrase ‘if deemed necessary,’ sounds like it was some kind of official organization that was doing the planning.” In other words, the “identified [DELETED” mentioned in the Houston FBI document may have been some other agency with jurisdiction in the area, which was calculatedly making plans to kill Occupy activists.
Kennedy knows first-hand the extent to which combined federal-state-local law enforcement forces in Houston were focused on disrupting and breaking up the Occupy action in that city. He represented seven people who were charged with felonies for a protest that attempted to block the operation of Houston’s port facility. That case fell apart when in the course of discovery, the prosecution disclosed that the Occupiers had been infiltrated by three undercover officers from the Austin Police department, who came up with the idea of using a device called a “sleeping dragon” -- actually chains inside of PVC pipe -- which are devilishly hard to cut through, for chaining protesters together blocking port access. The police provocateurs, Kennedy says, actually purchased the materials and constructed the “criminal instruments” themselves, supplying them to the protesters. As a result of this discovery, the judge tossed out the felony charges.

FBI Response

WhoWhatWhy contacted FBI headquarters in Washington, and asked about this document—which, despite its stunning revelation and despite PCFJ press releases, was (notwithstanding a few online mentions) generally ignored by mainstream and “alternative” press alike.
The agency confirmed that it is genuine and that it originated in the Houston FBI office. (The plot is also referenced in a second document obtained in PCJF’s FOIA response, in this case from the FBI’s Gainesville, Fla., office, which cites the Houston FBI as the source.)  That second document actually suggests that the assassination plot, which never was activated, might still be operative should Occupy decisively re-emerge in the area. It states:
On 13 October 20111, writer sent via email an excerpt from the daily [DELETED] regarding FBI Houston’s [DELETED] to all IAs, SSRAs and SSA [DELETED] This [DELETED] identified the exploitation of the Occupy Movement by [LENGTHY DELETION] interested in developing a long-term plan to kill local Occupy leaders via sniper fire.
Asked why solid information about an assassination plot against American citizens exercising their Constitutional right to free speech and assembly never led to exposure of the plotters’ identity or an arrest—as happened with so many other terrorist schemes the agency has publicized—Paul Bresson, head of the FBI media office, offered a typically elliptical response:
The FOIA documents that you reference are redacted in several places pursuant to FOIA and privacy laws that govern the release of such information so therefore I am unable to help fill in the blanks that you are seeking.  Exemptions are cited in each place where a redaction is made.  As far as the question about the murder plot, I am unable to comment further, but rest assured if the FBI was aware of credible and specific information involving a murder plot, law enforcement would have responded with appropriate action.
Note that the privacy being “protected” in this instance (by a government that we now know has so little respect for our privacy) was of someone or some organization that was actively contemplating violating other people’s Constitutional rights— by murdering them. That should leave us less than confident about Bresson’s assertion that law enforcement would have responded appropriately to a “credible” threat.

Houston Cops Not Warned?

The Houston FBI office stonewalled our requests for information about the sniper-rifle assassination plot and why nobody was ever arrested for planning to kill demonstrators. Meanwhile, the Houston Police, who had the job of controlling the demonstrations, and of maintaining order and public safety, displayed remarkably little interest in the plot:  “We haven’t heard about it,” said Keith Smith, a public affairs officer for the department, who told us he inquired about the matter with senior department officials.
Asked whether he was concerned that, if what he was saying was correct, it meant the FBI had not warned local police about a possible terrorist act being planned in his city, he said, “No. You’d have to ask the Houston FBI about that.”

Craft International Again

Sniper action by law enforcement officials in Texas would not be anything new. Last October, a border patrol officer with the Texas Department of Public Safety, riding in a helicopter, used a sniper rifle to fire at a fast-moving pickup truck carrying nine illegal immigrants into the state from Mexico, killing two and wounding a third, and causing the vehicle to crash and overturn. It turns out that Border Patrol agents, like a number of Texas law enforcement organizations, had been receiving special sniper training from a Dallas-based mercenary-for-hire organization called Craft International LLC.  It seems likely that Houston Police have also received such training, possibly from Craft, which has a contract for such law-enforcement training funded by the US Department of Homeland Security.
Efforts to obtain comment from Craft International have been unsuccessful, but the company’s website features photos of Craft instructors training law enforcement officers in sniper rifle use (the company was founded in 2009 by Chris Kyle, a celebrated Army sniper who last year was slain by a combat veteran he had accompanied to a shooting range). A number of men wearing Craft-issued clothing and gear, and bearing the company’s distinctive skull logo, were spotted around the finish line of the April Boston Marathon, both before and after the bombing. Some were wearing large black backpacks with markings resembling what was seen on an exploded backpack image released by the FBI.(For more on the backpacks that allegedly contained the bombs, see this piece we did in May.)

An Activist Responds

Remington Alessi, an Occupy Houston activist who played a prominent role during the Occupy events, was one of the seven defendants whose felony charge was dropped because of police entrapment. He says of the sniper plot information, which first came to light last December as one of hundreds of pages of FBI files obtained by PCJF, “We have speculated heavily about it. The ‘if deemed necessary’ phrase seems to indicate it was an organization. It could have been the police or a private security group.”
Alessi, who hails from a law-enforcement family and who ran last year for sheriff of Houston’s Harris County on the Texas Green Party ticket, garnering 22,000 votes, agrees with attorney Kennedy that the plotters were not from some right-wing organization. “If it had been that, the FBI would have acted on it,” he agrees. “I believe the sniper attack was one strategy being discussed for dealing with the occupation.” He adds:
I assume I would have been one of the targets, because I led a few of the protest actions, and I hosted an Occupy show on KPFT.  I wish I could say I’m surprised that this was seriously discussed, but remember, this is the same federal government that murdered (Black Panther Party leader) Fred Hampton. We have a government that traditionally murders people who are threats. I guess being a target is sort of an honor.
There, Alessi is referring to evidence made public in the Church Committee hearings of the 1970s which revealed that the FBI was orchestrating local police attacks (in Chicago, San Francisco and New York) on Panther leaders. (For more on that, see this, starting at p. 185, esp. pp. 220-223; also see this .)
Alessi suspects that the assassination plot cited in the FBI memo was
probably developed in the Houston Fusion Center (where federal, state and local intelligence people work hand-in-glove). During our trial we learned that they were all over our stuff, tracking Twitter feeds etc.  It seems to me that based on the access they were getting they were using what we now know as the NSA’s PRISM program.
He notes, correctly, that in documents obtained from the FBI and Homeland Security by the PCJF’s FOIA search, the Occupy Movement is classed as a “terrorist” activity.
Ironically, while the Occupy Movement was actually peaceful, the FBI, at best, was simply standing aside while some organization plotted to assassinate the movement’s prominent activists.
The FBI’s stonewalling response to inquiries about this story, and the agency’s evident failure to take any action regarding a known deadly threat to Occupy protesters in Houston, will likely make protesters at future demonstrations look differently at the sniper-rifle equipped law-enforcement personnel often seen on rooftops during such events. What are they there for? Who are the threats they are looking for and potentially targeting? Who are they protecting?  And are they using “suppressed” sniper rifles?  Would this indicate they have no plans to take responsibility for any shots silently fired?  Or that they plan to frame someone else?

Studies presented at cancer meetings are nearly all funded by Big Pharma

Studies presented at cancer meetings are nearly all funded by Big Pharma

(NaturalNews) New research from Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center in Boston suggests that the pharmaceutical industry is funding its own studies at cancer meetings around the world. Unbiased, third-party studies are being degraded, little by little, as industry backed studies take center stage. This comes as no surprise, since modern pharmaceutical drugging has become so pervasive throughout society, "bribed" to doctors and marketed through television ads. The industry has become a dictator of sorts, telling doctors what to know and what to prescribe. As the pharmacies fill up, people are continually bombarded with symptom cover-ups. As researchers suggest, much of this dominance comes from the industry's ability to dominate research, projecting its own studies at prominent medical cancer meetings.

In a world where money has the most influence, the pharmaceutical industry can wield as much power as they like, injecting their own manipulative studies into prominent cancer and medical meetings. As their paid-off studies devalue the credibility of medical and cancer research, who's to trust? As the pharmaceutical industry fills the pharmacies with its concoctions, is anyone ever getting better? Why are there always new drugs coming out? Why are real life studies and honest testimonials pushed out of mainstream medical meetings?

For the most part, the pharmaceutical industry has become a bloated system of lies, arousing new problems that warrant more demand for new drugs. Real cures outside of the industry are deemed quackery as the pharmaceutical system of power and control continues to wreak havoc, perpetuating health problems for millions.

Since many people trust their doctor, most people will be fed some sort of pharmaceutical drug to deal with problems like diabetes, heart disease, depression, sleep, and so on. The truth is - the drugs for these health problems wouldn't be needed if the medical industry told the truth and wasn't dominated by Big Pharma-backed studies.

Many doctors find the system of prescribing drugs an efficient method. This is because the real way of healing is hard to sell, even harder to market, and is suppressed by falsified studies backed by the pharmaceutical industry. Many doctors today only know what they were taught. Plus, they get good deals from the drug companies.

Natural cancer cure testimonials silenced, shunned

Still, there remains alternative minds who branch outside of the industry-backed education and find alternative ways to heal and help others. Take for instance, Dr. Patrick Vickers. This passionate doctor founded the Northern Baja Wellness Center in Tijuana, Mexico. He and his colleagues have expounded on the Gerson Therapy to reverse terminal illness in several people. He is just one of several alternative minds that think outside the conformed, controlled pharmaceutical industry and actually help people recover naturally, even from cancers.

It's a shame their work is being pushed out of major cancer meetings.

Why aren't these real life cancer cure testimonies being heard at major cancer meetings? As people's personal stories are suppressed and deemed quackery, pharmaceutical drug dealers take full control and run the whole cancer awareness show.

The truth is - most forms of cancer are curable. Terminal illness is reversible. A magic bullet will never cure cancer, but several therapies, when applied holistically, become a miraculous experience of recovery for those who seek healing with an open mind.

The mainstream chemotherapy-run cancer industry is just a racket, only to serve the interests of Big Pharma.

Here's what the researchers found

Dr. Beverly Moy, who led the analysis at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center in Boston said that, "Past evidence suggests industry-funded research is more likely to be published if it's positive - in favor of a product or pill - than if it's negative, a phenomenon known as publication bias."

She pointed out that relationships between scientists and pharmaceutical companies have become less "productive" and more untrustworthy, as it seems that both work together with biased studies that promote pharmaceutical products.

What Moy and her colleagues found were significant levels of conflicting financial interests at annual ASCO meetings (American Society of Clinical Oncology.) After analyzing the conflicts of interests of over 20,000 scientific studies and research summaries of the ASCO meetings in 06, 08, 09-011, Moy found that conflicts of financial interest rose to 38 percent!

They also found that studies funded by pharmaceutical companies were much more likely to host their own session at conferences, or were showcased at popular poster discussions.

Industry-supported studies were presented twice as much at large oral presentation gatherings, as compared to non-supported studies, which were pushed off as less important.

These findings can be found in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

Dr. David Johnson, chairman of internal medicine at Dallas's UT Southwestern School of Medicine, who had no hand in the study, said that this "Points out that there is this potential for greater and greater influence in the relationship of industry and the direction that biomedical research takes, and we have to constantly be on guard." He warned, "We just have to be really, really cautious."

Two more reasons to take turmeric: It protects your heart, fights autoimmune disease

Two more reasons to take turmeric: It protects your heart, fights autoimmune disease

(NaturalNews) You may already have heard that turmeric is a potent anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer food, but did you know that it can also help protect your heart and fight autoimmune diseases?

In a study published in the journal Biological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin in 2011, researchers from Niigata University of Pharmacy and Applied Life Sciences in Japan found that three weeks of supplementation with the turmeric compound curcumin significantly improved cardiac health in male rats who had been given an injection to induce an autoimmune disease of the heart (autoimmune myocarditis). The rats supplemented with curcumin also showed a reduction in the area of the heart covered by inflammatory lesions and a reduction in the heart's weight-to-body-weight ratio.

"Our results indicate that curcumin has the potential to protect against cardiac inflammation through suppression of IL-1beta, TNF-alpha, GATA-4 and NF-kB expresses, and may provide a novel therapeutic strategy for autoimmune myocarditis," the researchers wrote.

Turmeric has the distinction of being both one of the most widely used culinary spices and traditional medicines in the world. Its benefits have been well studied by Western scientists, who attribute much of its disease-fighting prowess to a trio of naturally occurring yellow-orange chemicals called the curcuminoids (and sometimes known simply by the name of the most famous of them, curcumin).

As good for your heart as exercise

Turmeric is not just good for the hearts of people with autoimmune myocarditis; in fact, several studies conducted by researchers from the University of Tsukuba in Japan suggest that it may be as beneficial for your heart as aerobic exercise!

In a pair of studies published in the journals Artery Research and Nutrition Research in September and October 2012, respectively, the researchers found that women who took a curcumin supplement showed as much improvement in two measures of heart health (vascular endothelial function and arterial compliance) as women assigned to a moderate aerobic exercise training program. An even greater benefit was seen, of course, in those who took the supplements and engaged in the exercise program as well.

In another study, published in the American Journal of Hypertension in June 2012, the researchers found that a combined exercise and curcumin program significantly slowed age-related degeneration in the heart.

Turmeric battles hard-to-treat autoimmune conditions

Because turmeric is such a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, numerous studies have been conducted to see whether it could be effective in reducing the severity of inflammation-based autoimmune diseases.

In autoimmune diseases, the body is attacked by its own immune system. These diseases are still poorly understood, and most of them have no known cause or cure. Common autoimmune diseases include type 1 diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease (including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease), rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, multiple sclerosis, myocarditis, thyroiditis, uveitis, systemic lupus erythromatosis and myasthenia. An estimated 5 percent of the world's population suffers from an autoimmune disease.

According to a research review published in the journal Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology in 2007, curcumin has been shown to reduce the symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis in humans or animals. As expected, symptomatic relief comes, at least in part, from the regulation of inflammation pathways.

It should be noted that the body absorbs curcumin most effectively from turmeric root, rather than from supplements. In addition, the maximum benefit to nutraceuticals typically comes when they are consumed at low doses over a long period of time. Nevertheless, at least one trial suggests that daily curcumin doses of up to 8 g might be safe for up to four months or longer.

More studies prove your gut bacteria control your brain functioning

More studies prove your gut bacteria control your brain functioning

(NaturalNews) Research proving the importance of gut bacteria for the immune system and mental and emotional health has gone viral lately. It started as a ripple slightly over a decade ago, and now it's becoming a tsunami of evidence.

The ancient concept established in Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that all health or disease begins in the gut has piqued enough interest to cause some mainstream medical researchers to seriously look into intestinal flora's true health effects beyond digestion.

So far, the research has confirmed gut health precepts held by ancient traditional health systems, which the medical monopoly has ignored by pushing antibiotics that destroy all microbes, both bad and beneficial.

Let's add the food industry's callous disregard for intestinal flora health by pushing GMOs and processed foods with deceptive labeling. They also have profound adverse effects on the intestinal flora balance required for immunity, mental health, and DNA integrity (http://www.naturalnews.com/031825_GMOs_threat.html).

Your friendly bacteria are among your best and most important friends for many reasons. This article covers the gut-brain connection.

A Recent University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) human study

This study, published recently in the June 2013 journal Gastroenterology, was at least partially inspired by earlier animal testing on mice that demonstrated less physiological stress indicators when fed probiotics. Another factor for this study was offered by UCLA associate professor of medicine Dr. Kirsten Tillisch who said, "Time and time again, we hear from patients that they never felt depressed or anxious until they started experiencing problems with their gut. Our study shows that the gut-brain connection is a two-way street."

A group of 36 women aged 18 through 35 were divided into three groups. One group ate a what they termed a "fermented milk product with probiotic" (FMPP) or yogurt that actually contained four major probiotic bacteria twice daily for a month.

The second or control group was fed the same amounts of yogurt devoid of probiotics over the same period, while the third group ate neither. All three groups were put through the same emotional task testing and received MRIs (magnetic resonance imaging) of their brains before, during, and after the study.

According to Dr. Tillisch, "The researchers were surprised to find that the brain effects could be seen in many areas, including those involved in sensory processing and not merely those associated with emotion."

Note: Three members of Danone Research, a fermented food product development group, were involved with setting up the study but were not permitted to interpret the results.

Unheralded probiotic mind-body importance known before this study

One wonders why the UCLA people didn't review Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride's patient medical records. After curing her son's autism, she established a UK pediatric practice that specializes in restoring intestinal flora balances to heal gut inflammation diseases, food allergies, and mental or emotional disturbances.

Dr. McBride reveals her revolutionary dietary approach to restore proper intestinal flora balance in her book Gut and Psychology Syndrome or GAPS (http://www.gaps.me/).

What's important is that we take in as much probiotic and prebiotic material as possible. Powerful probiotic supplements are pricey, but may be necessary temporarily after being subjected to antibiotics and other harsh medical interventions.

Avoiding processed foods, refined sugar and HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) is a foundation for inhibiting further probiotic destruction or intestinal flora imbalances. Fermented Asian foods, such as miso, natto, or nattokinase supplements and kefirs can be used for maintenance.

You don't need to rely on commercial fermented foods. You can ferment your own foods (http://www.naturalnews.com/033675_fermented_foods_probiotics.html).

And you can create your own potent milk kefir and consume it daily (http://www.yourkefirsource.com/how-to-make-kefir/kefir-milk-kefir).

Left-leaning Alternet wildly discredits itself by headlining vitamin doomsday propaganda from vaccine pusher Paul Offit

Left-leaning Alternet wildly discredits itself by headlining vitamin doomsday propaganda from vaccine pusher Paul Offit

(NaturalNews) When it comes to watching online publishers self destruct, it doesn't get any more bizarre than this. Left-leaning Alternet, a news source that has long enjoyed a reputation of putting out respectable content on issues like civil liberties and social justice, has just committed "integrity suicide" by publishing an article that spreads irrational fear about taking vitamins.

The article, published in Alternet's "Personal Health" section and written by Lynn Stuart Parramore, claims "vitamins could shorten your lifespan." It's an unabashed sellout to the Dr. Paul Offit "vitamin doomsday" agenda that attempts to spread total fear about vitamins and nutrition in order to prop up pharmaceuticals and vaccines. In running this article and headlining it on its website, Alternet abandons its history of questioning the status quo and just flat-out whores itself out to corporate interests. Click here to read the disinfo article yourself. It might as well be a press release from Merck.

Many great Alternet writers will be hurt by this

What a shame. There are so many other great writers on Alternet that to see its reputation ruined by Parramore is going to hurt a lot of great writers who will go down with the ship. The public isn't stupid. They see right through this Big Pharma propaganda. They know when a publication has sold out to corporate interests, and any online publication can implode almost overnight, losing its readers because it violates that sacred trust by betraying the people.

As I always remind myself here at Natural News, there is zero reader loyalty to a domain name or even an author. There is only loyalty to a consistency of ideals. This is also known as "integrity." If you have integrity, readers will keep coming back. If you forfeit your integrity by selling out to corporate interests, readers will immediately label you a back-stabber and they will simply stop visiting your site. You've just been crossed off their increasingly short list of websites to visit.

This is why Alternet has just made an enormous mistake. By publishing Parramore's article, Alternet just stabbed its readers in the back with Big Pharma propaganda and agenda-driven disinformation about nutrition. The article actually implies that taking multivitamins might kill you. It's an agenda-driven propaganda message spearheaded by the vaccine pusher Dr. Paul Offit (who also makes money from vaccines) and blindly repeated in the New York Times, Washington Post, TV shows and now Alternet, which has suddenly become an enemy of nutrition.

If you're taking vitamins to stay health and prevent disease -- for example taking vitamin D to prevent cancer -- then you're a sucker for "medical myths," claims Alternet. You may even be "more likely to die," the article explains.

What total bullshit. Is this what Alternet has now become? A mouthpiece for drug company interests?

So all you people out there making superfood smoothies, boosting your nutrition with food-based supplements, eating chlorella, taking vitamin D and so on are now essentially being called idiots by Alternet. You're a retard for boosting your nutritional intake, the article implies. You'd be much better off popping pharmaceuticals and injecting yourself with vaccines than swallowing those "dangerous" things called "nutrients" for God's sake!

Nowhere in the article is there any discussion whatsoever about the fact the all the studies cited in the article were conducted on low-grade multivitamins manufactured by low-end vitamin companies largely owned by pharmaceutical interests. They intentionally formulate their vitamins with synthetic chemicals that are mislabeled "vitamins." They also use inorganic forms of minerals that can't be digested. The whole purpose of this is to make sure so-called "multivitamins" don't work.

But once you move to high-end, food-based nutrients like those offered by the Megafood company (or Pure Synergy and many others), you get extraordinary health benefits from taking these vitamins. And nutrients like vitamin D have been shown to help prevent up to 78% of all cancers, all by itself!

Alternet, it seems, chose not to mention that part of the story. Instead, they're parroting the Paul Offit quackery and fearmongering: Vitamins might kill you! Be afraid of nutrition!

Alternet readers outraged

Alternet's readers, fortunately, seem to be far better informed about nutrition than Alternet's writer (Parramore). Here are some of their actual comments found after the story:

This's TOTAL bullshit. The author has a degree in literature- not science- & boy it shows. She's clearly ignorant of the political economics of health. What a useful idiot for the medical/pharmaceutical/insurance industrial complex.

This is disinformation at its worst, and coming from a supposedly alternative source of real news, which is causing AlterNet's credibility to plummet further and further. First of all, the AMA and its members are owned by the pharmaceutical giants. It would better be called the AMMA, the American Mafia Medical Association, because its motto and practice is "Pay or Die". (Unless, you get cancer, of course. Then it's "Pay AND Die," because of all the cancer cures that have been suppressed over past decades which might take away their $10 billion+ annual income from "treating" the disease rather than curing it.) Of COURSE Big Pharma wants you to stop taking your vitamins and supplements, because they cannot patent and overcharge you for them. And they want you to get sick, so they can sell you several different exorbitantly priced concoctions to "make you well". The documentation for the efficacy of certain vitamins and supplements is well established, and these contradicting conclusions of faulty and phony "research" are to be viewed as the nonsense that they are. Shame on AlterNet for not making that assertion instead of the misleading crap they promoted in this article! Has AlterNet been bought now, too?

Very weak article, skewed, with no attempt to interview responsible scientists/physicians who claim value can be received from supplements. Sad, really. Not good journalism.

When the NIH or Mayo Clinic is sited as the last word, I am suspicious. Having Lyme and knowing that the CDC lied about the report on Chronic Lyme, why would I believe a government agency, funded and motivated by large corporations in competition with pharms? I would prefer to just eat to get my vitamins.

For the record, Lynn Stuart Parramore cherry picked the studies she cited in the story, ignoring the overwhelming body of scientific evidence supporting the benefits of supplemental nutrition. And in doing that, she reveals herself to be a disgusting excuse for a sellout journalist... exactly the kind of person that Alternet used to rally against. I remember a time when Alternet was an independent, anti-establishment publication that actually challenged the status quo, especially during the Bush administration. Alternet was anti-war, anti-imperialism, anti-surveillance and anti-Bush. What the heck happened?

Join me in calling for Alternet to retract its disinformation article

I'm calling on Alternet to retract this disinfo article and issue a public apology to its readers. There's no other way to say this: Alternet is now shoveling corporate bullshit and calling it headline news. (Sorry about all the profanity in this article, folks. But sometimes it actually means something.)

I mean, seriously: What's next for Alternet? Are they going to come out and announce support for Monsanto and GMOs, too? It wouldn't surprise me. Any website opposed to sensible nutritional supplementation (and pushing Big Pharma's anti-nutrition message) is sooner or later going to line up behind all the other destructive corporate interests. Pretty soon it will be, "Alternet. Sponsored by Pfizer. Free vaccine coupon for all Alternet readers!"

You can contact Alternet here:
http://www.alternet.org/feedback

Tell 'em that if they want their reputation to mean anything, they need to retract this nonsense article and ban the nutritional moron known as "Parramore" from writing about things that only prove what an ignorant fool she really is.

And by the way, I've never written about Alternet before. I've got nothing whatsoever against the publication and I've actually sourced it many times in the past. I'd like to see it restore its integrity and continue to function as a trusted alternative news source. But now I'm seriously wondering if Alternet has been bought off, sold out, hijacked or somehow turned over to corporate interests.

I guess we'll soon find out.

I will share one more thing with you all, by the way: I will NEVER allow Natural News to intentionally publish the kind of corporate-sellout crap that Alternet just put on its front page. And if you ever see something like that on Natural News, it's a sure sign that I've been kidnapped at gunpoint and am being impersonated by a doppelganger.

Richard Clarke: Hastings Accident “Consistent with a Car Cyber Attack”

“Intelligence agencies… know how to remotely seize control of a car.”
Kurt Nimmo
Infowars.com
June 24, 2013

Richard Clarke. Photo: National Communications System
Former U.S. National Coordinator for Security, Infrastructure Protection, and Counter-terrorism Richard Clarketold The Huffington Post on Monday that the fatal crash of journalist Michael Hastings’ Mercedes C250 coupe last week is “consistent with a car cyber attack.”
“There is reason to believe that intelligence agencies for major powers” — including the United States — know how to remotely seize control of a car,” Clarke said.
On Saturday, Infowars.com posted a video of a talk presented by Dr. Kathleen Fisher, a program manager for DARPA, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, an agency of the United States Department of Defense responsible for the development of new technologies. Fisher admitted that the Pentagon has researched remotely controlling cars through hacking on board computers.
In 2011, Car and Driver magazine published an article substantiating the Pentagon research. “Currently, there’s nothing to stop anyone with malicious intent and some computer-programming skills from taking command of your vehicle. After gaining access, a hacker could control everything from which song plays on the radio to whether the brakes work,” writes Keith Barry, citing research conducted by the Center for Automotive Embedded Systems Security, a partnership between the University of California San Diego and the University of Washington.
“What has been revealed as a result of some research at universities is that it’s relatively easy to hack your way into the control system of a car, and to do such things as cause acceleration when the driver doesn’t want acceleration, to throw on the brakes when the driver doesn’t want the brakes on, to launch an air bag,” Clarke told The Huffington Post. “You can do some really highly destructive things now, through hacking a car, and it’s not that hard.”
Clarke was careful not to directly implicate the government in hacking Hastings’ car. “So if there were a cyber attack on the car — and I’m not saying there was,” he said, “I think whoever did it would probably get away with it.”
He also put credence in the FBI’s claim – despite claims to the contrary by associates of the writer – that the agency was not investigating him. “I believe the FBI when they say they weren’t investigating him,” said Clarke. “That was very unusual, and I’m sure they checked very carefully before they said that.”
“I’m not a conspiracy guy. In fact, I’ve spent most of my life knocking down conspiracy theories,” said Clarke. “But my rule has always been you don’t knock down a conspiracy theory until you can prove it [wrong]. And in the case of Michael Hastings, what evidence is available publicly is consistent with a car cyber attack. And the problem with that is you can’t prove it.”
Despite the overwhelming evidence that Michael Hastings was targeted and assassinated for his journalism – most notably his story resulting in the fall of Gen. Stanley McChrystal and remarks on NSA surveillance – the establishment media continues to portray the attack on Hastings as the delusional meanderings of conspiracy theorists. Clarke’s comments serve as the latest pièce de résistance in an unfolding drama revealing just how far the government will go to silence critics and truth tellers.
Prior to his murder, Hastings said the Obama administration had declared war on the press. His desire to go into hiding – expressed in an email mere hours before his assassination – demonstrates the ability of the government to monitor opponents by using a well-developed NSA surveillance grid and take executive action against investigative journalists and others who dare to stand up to the national security state.

Congress Insisted They Be Kept in the Dark on NSA Spying

Lawmakers refused to provide oversight of controversial program nine years ago
Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars.com
June 25, 2013
Congress insisted it be kept in the dark on the NSA surveillance programs recently revealed by Edward Snowden, according to Dick Cheney, who approached lawmakers with an invitation for them to provide more oversight back in 2004 but was told, “absolutely not”.
Image: Wikimedia Commons.
Speaking at a Washington think tank on U.S.-Korean affairs, the former Vice-President bragged about his involvement in setting up NSA programs shortly after 9/11 that snooped on email and phone records.
Cheney also revealed that when he approached Congressional leaders about whether they wished to provide oversight for the program three years after it began, they were “unanimous” that it should continue.
“I said, ‘Do you think we ought to come back to the Congress in order to get more formal authorization?’ and they said, ‘Absolutely not.’ Everybody, Republican and Democrat, said, ‘Don’t come back up here, it will leak’,” Cheney said.
Cheney’s claim that Snowden’s revelations have caused significant damage to US national security has been rejected by other top security experts, who assert that terrorists already assume their communications are under surveillance and are therefore unaffected by the information released by the whistleblower.
“The argument that this sweeping search must be kept secret from the terrorists is laughable. Terrorists already assume this sort of thing is being done. Only law-abiding American citizens were blissfully ignorant of what their government was doing,” said top counter-terrorism czar under Presidents Clinton and Bush – Richard Clarke.
The former head of the NSA’s global digital data gathering program, William Binney, also highlighted how mass NSA surveillance did nothing to prevent terrorism.
In addition, the claim that the program prevented terror attacks on targets such as Wall Street and the New York subway has also been debunked.
Cheney’s revelation that Congress was completely uninterested in learning about the PRISM program and other NSA snooping initiatives nine years before they caused a global scandal underscores how lawmakers are continually willing to give the federal government a blank check to abuse Constitutional rights.
Given the fact that Congress is not only failing to perform its duty of acting as a check and balance in providing oversight of federal government activity, but actually demanding its role be the opposite – a green light for unrestrained spying – is it any wonder that the Congressional job approval has been on a continual slide since 9/11?
A recent Rasmussen Reports survey found that just one percent of Americans think Congress is doing an excellent job and 5 percent think it’s doing a good job, figures that are well deserved given that lawmakers, besides a notable few, have completely abrogated their responsibility to keep the executive branch under scrutiny.
