Marijuana eases painful MS muscle cramping

Marijuana eases painful MS muscle cramping

(NaturalNews) A recent Reuters write-up of a marijuana for an MS pain and spasticity trial highlighted positive results for the MS (muscular or multiple sclerosis) patients after using marijuana. They felt less pain and spasticity, which consists of extreme muscular tension, cramps and uncontrollable muscle spasms.

MS is a degenerative autoimmune disease of the central nervous system that eats away at the nerves' protective myelin sheaths, which also assist with transmitting nerve signals.

The test subjects using marijuana reported feeling better, being more relaxed, and being able to function better. You'd think the phrase "looks promising" would have been part of the Reuters release. Instead, the researchers equivocated cautiously with comments about the test's questionable accuracy and unproven long term marijuana effects on cognitive abilities.

The real bottom line on cannabis for degenerative nerve disease

A person who won't waffle about the effect of cannabis on neurodegenerative diseases is Robert Melamede, PhD, Professor of Biology at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. He explains how the recently discovered endocannabinoid system in our bodies helps protect and regenerate nerves.

Professor Melamede explains further that in order to have a healthy endocannabinoid system, we must supplement with essential fatty acids. But whenever the nervous system is threatened, we should call in the cannabis.

Unfortunately, most medical marijuana users are smokers and smoking seems to "burn out" most of the healing properties of the plant, claims Rick Simpson. Rick demonstrated healing with THC/CBD hemp oil, distilled from a pound or so of weed into a medium sized syringe (without hypodermic needle).

Only a drop was needed once or twice daily to cure most cancer ridden patients in his Nova Scotia community. One doesn't get high with this THC/CBD hemp oil, but the healing properties sans negative effects from smoking are much stronger (http://www.naturalnews.com/027756_cancer_cure_Big_Pharma.html)

Actually, the high that's so revered and feared comes from THC, which becomes available when the leaves are burning. Not burning the marijuana retains the CBD (cannabidiol) content. It appears CBDs are more curative.

More recently, a Northern California hemp MD, Dr. William Courtney, has achieved miraculous results juicing the whole cannabis plant. Again, very curative without the high that many fear will drive everyone into "reefer madness" (sarcasm intended).

Keeping us from natural cures while administering poisons

So while licensed medical researchers waffle and stall, the Medical Mafia and Big Pharma are working madly to produce CBDs synthetically to obtain patents, potentially allowing them to get the big bucks while keeping marijuana illegal.

The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) published a report by Dr. Barbara Starfield of the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health showing that at least 106,000 patients die annually from correctly prescribed pharmaceutical drugs.

This figure did not include over the counter (OTC) pharma drugs, and in recent interviews, Dr. Starfield admitted her figures were conservative. Include the fact that the year 2000 was only the beginning the five year Vioxx genocide -- which added an admitted 50,000 dead bodies -- pushes the numbers higher.

More recently, Dr. Carolyn Dean, author of Death by Medicine mentioned that she had derived a count of 300,000 annual for prescribed pharma drugs in 2008. Then she discovered that a half-million died from prescribed sleeping pills in 2010.

Many more died from Vioxx than previously admitted, perhaps 10 times more.

Meanwhile, Americans for Safe Access has been testing MS patients with cannabis successfully for years. But their work has gone mostly unnoticed.

The Medical Mafia's crime against humanity is keeping us from safe cures while dispensing poisons posing as cures.
