NY Attorney General confirms real-life conspiracy among drug companies

NY Attorney General confirms real-life conspiracy among drug companies

(NaturalNews) The office of the New York Attorney General and the
American units of Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. and Teva Pharmaceutical
Industries Ltd. have come to terms on a settlement involving claims that
an agreement between the two Big Pharma companies restricted
competition unlawfully.

Both companies agreed to pay a small fine
(by comparison) of $150,000 to New York State and to cease making
similar agreements in the future as part of the settlement, Reuters reported. Neither company admitted or denied the allegations, but the settlement absolves them of having to do so.

By
settling, the companies have ended an investigation that was being
conducted by the state into an agreement that was signed by both in 2010
to sell a generic version of Pfizer, Inc.'s cholesterol-lowering drug
Lipitor in the U.S., while not horning in on the exclusivity rights of
other generic drugs sold by the pharmaceutical companies. Per Reuters:

The
agreement was drawn up as a contingency plan to allow Israel's Teva to
sell the generic Lipitor, or atorvastatin calcium, in case Ranbaxy's
version was not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration before
Lipitor lost its patent protection on November 30, 2011.

While
India's Ranbaxy, majority-owned by Japan's Daiichi Sankyo Co Ltd,
eventually got FDA approval in time, the agreement remained in place and
could have been used to protect other drugs made by the two companies.

'Pay-for-delay'

"Agreements between drug
manufacturers to protect each other's market positions violate
fundamental principles of antitrust law, and can lead to higher drug
prices," Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said in a statement.

While the agreement
related only to the sale of the one drug, it included a "no-challenge"
clause, which allowed both companies to shield from competition, as well
as legal and regulatory challenges, scores of other medications,
according to the NY attorney general's office, which added, however,
that no anti-competitive effects due to the agreement had been
identified during the investigation.

Schneiderman says the entire
ordeal represents the application of a recent legal precedent that
arose from challenges of "pay-for-delay" agreements that were
established between makers of brand-name and generic drugs.

Those
deals, where a brand-name Pharma company pays a generic rival not to
sell their versions of a drug at a much-reduced price, have caught the
attention of regulators in countries all over the world, because such
agreements raise patient-care costs as well as the public sector's costs
to cover healthcare treatments.

Criminal enterprise

"Ranbaxy...
continues to believe that the agreement was pro-competitive and an
important part of making the product readily available to patients and
the U.S. healthcare system in a timely fashion," a Ranbaxy spokesman
said in an email to Reuters, but the other company involved, Teva, would not comment.

"The
settlement is positive for (Ranbaxy). The settlement amount will not
significantly impact the company," said Sarabjit Kour Nangra, an analyst
at Angel Broking, as quoted by the newswire service.

Ranbaxy was
banned from exporting drugs to the U.S. after failing to abide by U.S.
Food and Drug Administration manufacturing standards.

Natural News
has reported on illegal activity committed by Big Pharma companies
often in the past. As our editor, Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, has
documented, anyone who has labeled the industry as little more than a
criminal enterprise has been vindicated time and again. In 2012, Mike
wrote:

Drug and vaccine manufacturer Merck was caught
red-handed by two of its own scientists faking vaccine efficacy data by
spiking blood samples with animal antibodies. GlaxoSmithKline has just
been fined a whopping $3 billion for bribing doctors, lying to the FDA,
hiding clinical trial data and fraudulent marketing. Pfizer, meanwhile
has been sued by the nation's pharmacy retailers for what is alleged as
an "overarching anticompetitive scheme" to keep generic cholesterol
drugs off the market and thereby boost its own profits.

This latest settlement with authorities in New York further documents the previous pattern of criminality.

New Mexico residents, you have been warned–don’t wait for the EPA to
advise you with false information as airborne radiation has already
been detected

By Shepard Ambellas
CARLSBAD, NM (INTELLIHUB)
— According to potrblog and another “reliable source” of information,
an insider, from the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP), residents and
people within 100 miles of the plant may be in serious danger as a massive radiation plume is airborne.

In fact, insider information and calculations show that the toxic
plume may contain “deadly” amounts of radiation as the initial release
over only a 30-second span calculated out to be around 100 million Bq.

Astonishingly, the current release rate of radioactive plutonium
isotopes is around 6,667 Bq per minute, as calculated by potrblog.

Pissin’ on the Roses reported:

Our source informed us that at Station A (prior to HEPA filtration) that the small amount of air which
is being sampled returned a reading of several hundred DPM’s; and that
the POST HEPA FILTERED AIR was reading approximately 20 DPM’s.

WIPP planning documents indicated that their ventilation system has 3 fans, which add up to at total ventilation capacity of 20,000 Cubic Meters of Air per minute.
The ventilation system has 4 circuits. It is unclear which circuits are
running, or at what rates. It is also unclear if there are even higher
concentrated released going out of the other shafts at the plant. But
given the information available, the wise risk mitigation based measurement for current releases is 400,000 DPM’s every single minute.

It is also important to note that the sampling filters are tiny in comparison to the over all airflow,
only a small subset of air is measured. The photos of the Station A
sensors/ filters show a pipe roughly 1/2 inch in diameter as the air
sample source. The actual exhaust pipe is tall enough for a person to
walk in. The plant also has 4 ventilation zones, it is unclear which
zones are currently being ventilated. Hence 400K DPM per minute is the
MINIMUM Radiation release number on which a wise person would base risk
mitigation decisions.

We are now requesting that local residents or insiders report any information found to newstips@intellihub.com.

It is also interesting to note that full-body radiation scans have
also been offered by the New Mexico State University as pointed out by
potrblog on YouTube.

Mysterious polio-like illness affects kids in California

Doctors believe they've identified as many as 25 California children suffering from a mysterious, polio-like virus capable of paralyzing limbs.

A mysterious polio-like syndrome has affected as many as 25 California children, leaving them with paralyzed limbs and little hope of recovery.
"What's we're seeing now is bad. The best-case scenario is complete loss of one limb, the worst is all four limbs, with respiratory insufficiency, as well. It's like the old polio," said Keith Van Haren, a pediatric neurologist at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto, Calif.
The first known case appeared in 2012. Sofia Jarvis in Berkeley began to experience wheezing and difficulty breathing. The 2-year-old spent days in the intensive care unit at Children's Hospital Oakland. Doctors thought she had asthma.
On a follow-up visit, her mother Jessica Tomei, 37, realized something else was wrong.
"As we were leaving the doctor's office, I noticed that she went to grab something with her left arm and she stopped, midway," Tomei said.

As Bank Deaths Continue to Shock, Documents Reveal JPMorgan Has Been Patenting Death Derivatives

By Pam Martens and Russ Martens: February 17, 2014
The probability of two vibrant young men in their 30s who are employed by the same global bank but separated by an ocean dying within six days of each other is remote. And few companies are in as good a position to understand just how remote as is JPMorgan: since 2010, it has received four patents on quantifying longevity risks and structuring wagers via death derivatives.
The two deaths at JPMorgan remain unexplained. Gabriel Magee, a 39-year old technology Vice President was found dead on the 9th level rooftop of JPMorgan’s European headquarters at 25 Bank Street in the Canary Wharf section of London on January 28 of this year. A London coroner’s inquest is scheduled for May 15 to determine the cause of death. Six days later, Ryan Crane, a 37-year old Executive Director involved in trading at JPMorgan’s New York office was found dead at his Stamford, Connecticut home. Wall Street On Parade spoke with the Chief Medical Examiner’s office in Connecticut and was told the cause of death is “pending,” with final results expected in a few weeks.
Magee’s death was originally reported by London newspapers as a jump from the 33rd level rooftop of JPMorgan’s building with the strong implication that eyewitnesses had observed the jump. The London Evening Standard tweeted: “Bankers watch JP Morgan IT exec fall to his death from roof of London HQ,” which then linked to their article which said in its opening sentence that “A man plunged to his death from a Canary Wharf tower in front of thousands of horrified commuters today.”
When Wall Street On Parade contacted the Metropolitan Police in London a few days later, there was no assurance that even one eyewitness was on record as having seen Magee jump from the building.
Crane’s death is equally problematic. The death occurred on February 3 but the first major media to report it was Bloomberg News on February 13, ten days after the fact, and making no mention of Magee’s unexplained death just six days prior.
According to information available at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, JPMorgan created the LifeMetrics Index in March 2007 as an “international index designed to benchmark and trade longevity risk.” The index was said to enable pension plans to hedge the risk of payments to retirees and incorporated “historical and current statistics on mortality rates and life expectancy, across genders, ages, and nationalities.” From 2010 through 2013, JPMorgan has received patent approval on four longevity related patents.
Reuters reported on August 26, 2013 that the long-term longevity bets taken on by the big banks have now started to cause pain as international capital rules known as Basel III require more capital to be set aside for longer-dated positions. The article noted that “JPMorgan likely has the biggest holdings of long-dated swaps because it is the biggest swaps trader on Wall Street, responsible for about 30 percent of the market by some measures, traders at rival firms said.”
One extremely long longevity bet taken on by JPMorgan was reported by Insurance Risk on October 1, 2008. According to the publication, JPMorgan entered into a 40-year £500 million notional longevity swap with Canada Life whereby Canada Life would make a fixed annual payment in return for a floating liability-matching payment that would increase if the annuitants lived longer than expected. JPMorgan was believed to have passed on some of the risk to hedge fund investors but retained the counterparty risk. Because many of these deals are private, the full extent of JPMorgan’s exposure in this area is not known.
Wall Street veterans have also commented on the fact that JPMorgan may actually stand to profit from the early deaths of the two young men in their 30s. As we reported in March of last year, when the U.S. Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations released its report on JPMorgan’s high risk bets known as the London Whale debacle, its Exhibit 81 showed that JPMorgan’s Chief Investment Office was also overseeing Bank Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) and Corporate Owned Life Insurance (COLI) plans which allow the corporation to reap huge tax benefits by taking out life insurance policies on workers – even low wage workers – and naming the corporation the beneficiary of the death benefit. Both the buildup in the policy and the benefit at death are received tax free to the corporation.

Yet another banker has committed suicide, with a JP Morgan forex trader leaping to his death from the top of the firm’s Chater House headquarters in Hong Kong.
Image: Man pictured before his suicide (SCMP).
Over the past few weeks at least seven bankers have died under mysterious circumstances, including another JP Morgan senior manager who jumped off the top of a skyscraper in London last month.
Speculation is rife that the series of deaths are connected to some kind of looming financial crisis or a huge legal case targeting bankers for malfeasance, although no definite link has been established.
Eyewitnesses said that the man, who was in his 30′s, accessed the roof of the 30 story office tower and jumped, with police on the scene failing to talk him out of committing suicide. Chater House is JP Morgan’s main regional Asian office.
“According to several JP Morgan employees, the man was a forex trader with the company,” reports the South China Morning Post, adding that his name was Li Junjie. The bank itself refused to confirm that the man was an employee.
Junjie becomes the 7th banker to suddenly die in recent weeks. Questions as to whether the deaths are merely a coincidence or are linked to some as yet unknown factor continue to swirl.
- On January 26, former Deutsche Bank executive Broeksmit was found dead at his South Kensington home after police responded to reports of a man found hanging at a house. According to reports, Broeksmit had “close ties to co-chief executive Anshu Jain.”
- Gabriel Magee, a 39-year-old senior manager at JP Morgan’s European headquarters, jumped 500ft from the top of the bank’s headquarters in central London on January 27, landing on an adjacent 9 story roof.
- Mike Dueker, the chief economist at Russell Investments, fell down a 50 foot embankment in what police are describing as a suicide. He was reported missing on January 29 by friends, who said he had been “having problems at work.”
- Richard Talley, 57, founder of American Title Services in Centennial, Colorado, was also found dead earlier this month after apparentlyshooting himself with a nail gun.
- 37-year-old JP Morgan executive director Ryan Henry Crane died last week.
- Tim Dickenson, a U.K.-based communications director at Swiss Re AG, also died last month, although the circumstances surrounding his death are still unknown.

Norwegian Scientists Warn Against Eating Farmed Salmon: Everything You Need to Know About Farmed Fish

Women, children and adolescents should avoid eating farmed salmon, according to Norwegian doctors and international experts. The reason is that salmon feed contains harmful pollutants.
Talking to VG, specialist Anne-Lise Birch Monsen and Physician and professor of medicine, Bjørn Bolann say that it is uncertain in both the amount of toxins and how they affect children, adolescents and pregnant. They point out that the type of contaminants that have been detected in farmed salmon have a negative effect on brain development and is associated with autism, AD / HD and reduced IQ.
Norwegian Scientists Warn Against Eating Farmed Salmon Everything You Need to Know About Farmed Fish
A large European study involving about 8,000 newborns, shows that pregnant women with high levels of toxins in the body have children with lower birth weight, which may have an adverse effect on child health.
Conservative party (Høyre) economic policy spokesman  Svein FlÃ¥tten asks fisheries minister to respond in the Parliament on whether Norwegian farmed salmon is dangerous to eat for children and pregnant women.
I want to know what she can do to make Norwegian consumers and society sure that Norwegian farmed salmon is a healthy and clean product. That’s what we’ve been hearing from researchers for years, says FlÃ¥tten to NTB.
He believes there is reason to take seriously the warning raised by doctors.
- There is no doubt that such claims may have a negative effect on salmon industry. Therefore, it is important to clarify this quickly. I expect the health authorities to look closely at the findings discussed, he said.
If you eat seafood, unless you catch it yourself or ask the right questions, the odds are pretty good it comes from a fish farm. The aquaculture industry is like a whale on steroids, growing faster than any other animal agriculture segment and now accounting for half the fish eaten in the U.S.
w-i-f-s-popup1-300x300
As commercial fishing operations continue to strip the world’s oceans of life, with one-third of fishing stocks collapsed and the rest headed there by mid-century, fish farming is seen as a way to meet the world’s growing demand. But is it really the silver bullet to solve the Earth’s food needs? Can marine farms reliably satisfy the seafood cravings of three billion people around the globe?
This article looks at aquaculture and its long-term effects on fish, people, and other animals. With this industry regularly touted as a paragon of food production, whether you eat seafood or not, you should know these nine key facts about farmed fish.
1. Farmed fish have dubious nutritional value. The Omega-3 Levels are Not What You Think
Here’s a frustrating paradox for those who eat fish for their health: the nutritional benefits of fish are greatly decreased when it’s farmed. Take omega-3 fatty acids. Wild fish get their omega-3’s from aquatic plants. Farmed fish, however, are often fed corn, soy, or other feedstuffs that contain little or no omega-3’s. This unnatural, high-corn diet also means some farmed fish accumulate unhealthy levels of the wrong fatty acids. Further, farmed fish are routinely dosed with antibiotics, which can cause antibiotic-resistant disease in humans.
2. The farmed fishing industry robs Peter to pay Paul. Small Prey Fish May be Driven to Extinction
While some farmed fish can live on diets of corn or soy, others need to eat fish – and lots of it. Tuna and salmon, for example, need to eat up to five pounds of fish for each pound of body weight. The result is that prey (fish like anchovies and herring) are being fished to the brink of extinction to feed the world’s fish farms. “We have caught all the big fish and now we are going after their food,” says the non-profit Oceana, which blames aquaculture’s voracious hunger for declines of whales, dolphins, seals, sea lions, tuna, bass, salmon, albatross, penguins, and other species.
farmed-wild
3. Fish experience pain and stress.
Contrary to the wishful thinking of many a catch-and-release angler, the latest research shows conclusively that fish experience pain and stress. In one study, fish injected with bee venom engaged in rocking behavior linked to pain and, compared to control groups, reduced their swimming activity, waited three times longer to eat, and had higher breathing rates. Farmed fish are subject to the routine stresses of hyperconfinement throughout their lives, and are typically killed in slow, painful ways like evisceration, starvation, or asphyxiation.
4. Farmed fish are loaded with disease, and this spreads to wild fish populations.
Farmed fish are packed as tightly as coins in a purse, with twenty-seven adult trout, for example, typically scrunched into a bathtub-sized space. These unnatural conditions give rise to diseases and parasites, which often migrate off the farm and infect wild fish populations. On Canada’s Pacific coast, for example, sea lice infestations are responsible for mass kill-offs of pink salmon that have destroyed 80% of the fish in some local populations. But the damage doesn’t end there, because eagles, bears, orcas, and other predators depend on salmon for their existence. Drops in wild salmon numbers cause these species to decline as well.
5. Fish farms are rife with toxins, which also damage local ecosystems.
You can’t have diseases and parasites infecting your economic units, so operators fight back by dumping concentrated antibiotics and other chemicals into the water. Such toxins damage local ecosystems in ways we’re just beginning to understand. One study found that a drug used to combat sea lice kills a variety of nontarget marine invertebrates, travels up to half a mile, and persists in the water for hours.
1010019_10154252068655355_565337636_n
6. Farmed fish are living in their own feces.
That’s right, fish poop too. Farmed fish waste falls as sediment to the seabed in sufficient quantities to overwhelm and kill marine life in the immediate vicinity and for some distance beyond. It also promotes algal growth, which reduces water’s oxygen content and makes it hard to support life. When the Israeli government learned that algal growth driven by two fish farms in the Red Sea was hurting nearby coral reefs, it shut them down.
7. Farmed fish are always trying to escape their unpleasant conditions, and who can blame them?
In the North Atlantic region alone, up to two million runaway salmon escape into the wild each year. The result is that at least 20% of supposedly wild salmon caught in the North Atlantic are of farmed origin. Escaped fish breed with wild fish and compromise the gene pool, harming the wild population. Embryonic hybrid salmon, for example, are far less viable than their wild counterparts, and adult hybrid salmon routinely die earlier than their purebred relatives. This pressure on wild populations further hurts predators who rely on fish like bears and orcas.
8. See: the Jevons Paradox.
This counterintuitive economic theory says that as production methods grow more efficient, demand for resources actually increases – rather than decreasing, as you might expect. Accordingly, as aquaculture makes fish production increasingly efficient, and fish become more widely available and less expensive, demand increases across the board. This drives more fishing, which hurts wild populations. Thus, as the construction of new salmon hatcheries from 1987 to 1999 drove lower prices and wider availability of salmon, world demand for salmon increased more than fourfold during the period. The net result: fish farming cranks up the pressure on already-depleted populations of wild fish around the world.
9. When the heavy environmental damage they cause is taken into account, fish farming operations often are found to generate more costs than revenues.
One study found that aquaculture in Sweden’s coastal waters “is not only ecologically but also economically unsustainable.” Another report concluded that fish farming in a Chinese lake is an “economically irrational choice from the perspective of the whole society, with an unequal tradeoff between environmental costs and economic benefits.” Simply put, aquaculture drives heavy ecological harms and these cost society money. In the U.S., fish farming drives hidden costs of roughly $700 million each year – or half the annual production value of fish farming operations.

Main Stream Media And Their Paid Liar “Scientists” Are Desperately Trying To Hide The Truth About Climate Engineering

The artificially nucleated snow storms have finally raised the attention of the public. As we expected, main stream media has responded to the explosion of public awakening with a steady stream of disinformation. They attempt to back up the disinformation with “scientists” who are all too willing to lie for the empire. None of the mainstream media stories bother to mention any credible science terms in their “stories”. That could lead people to solid information and that is the last thing the power brokers want. Main stream media of course fails to mention science terms like “climate engineering”, “geoengineering” , “stratospheric aerosol geoengineering” (SAG), “solar radiation management” (SRM), “stratospheric aerosol injection” (SAI), etc.

Our future depends on having a critical mass of the population that is clear on the truth. A critical mass that is not swayed by the constant stream of lies put out by the so called “experts” who are paid to hide the the truth at any cost. The power structure can not afford to have the American public wake up and they will do anything they can to keep this from happening.
