VIDEO: Stenographer escorted off House floor after open-mic rant

Published on Oct 17, 2013
A stenographer named Dianne Reidy walked up to the dais and suddenly began yelling, startling other staffers and members of congress standing nearby.

The outburst reportedly included the woman mentioning God, the Free Masons, and the Constitution.

It took place just as the vote was nearing an end.

After a few seconds, visibly shaken house aides forced the woman away from the dais and off the house floor.

A capitol police spokesman said the stenographer was being interviewed but didn't indicate whether they'd be bringing charges.

No immediate information was available about her condition or the reason for her remarks.

This is video shot by Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times, after Reidy was led out of the chamber.

The cell phone video shows Reidy being escorted by security into an elevator.
