Thousands of armed vigilantes takeover Mexican town, arrest police and shoot at tourists after 'commander' is killed and dumped in the street
Thousands of armed vigilantes have
taken over a town in Mexico and arrested police officers after their
'commander' was killed and dumped in the street.
The self described 'community police' and arrested 12 officers and the town's former director of public security, who they accuse of taking part in the killing of Guadalupe Quinones Carbajal, 28, on behalf of a local organised crime group.
The 1,500-strong force has also set up improvised checkpoints on the major road running through Tierra Colorado, which connects the capital Mexico City to Acapulco, a coastal city popular with tourists less than 40 miles away.

A tourist heading to the beach with relatives for the Easter weekend was injured on Tuesday after the vigilantes opened fire on his car because he refused to stop at a roadblock.
The takeover comes amid a growing movement of 'self defence' groups in the region, which claim to be fighting against drug cartels.

Human Tissue Found in Meats - but eating it is "no threat"

The horse meat fiasco in Europe has prodded scientists to look a bit deeper into what else we might be consuming. A team of South African scientists have just found traces of human tissue in meat meant for public consumption from 9 provinces.
The issue was revealed to parliament, almost as a side note, during meat inspection briefings on Tuesday.
A University of Stellenbosch scientist and his team conducted a microbial analysis that revealed traces of human elements, but said that slaughterhouse workers sometimes cut themselves . . . or other things . . . which could lead to the findings.
In addition to the troubling statements above, scientist Louw Hoffman noted that only 15% of the meat being sold in South Africa is correctly labeled, revealing other potentially harmful attributes of which consumers are currently unaware:

the overall findings that consumers have absolutely no idea what they

We'd like to think that these food scandals are safe from us - overseas, it's their problem. But, big problems are usually systemic and many of the developed nations are on the same platform. As with most food scandals, they go on for years unnoticed before the beans are spilled.
It doesn't sound like anyone's literally being run through the meat grinder just yet, but it's a startling fact that we don't know much about what our food comes into contact with. And we have scientists and regulatory agencies continually asserting how safe our food supply is.
Are you unsettled at the prospect of ingesting someone else's particles and blood? Do you wonder what else will be found when the next scientific investigation is conducted in your country?
Perhaps we should be asking ourselves before each meal, "Hey, who's in there? How'd they get in there? Anyone missing?"

If I walked into a factory and the sample I randomly selected to test was a meat sample of which the person de-boning the meat had just picked his nose and then touched the meat, I would get a totally different microbial reading," he said.Delicious. Beyond the findings themselves, it brings up the global hot-button topic of the moment: food labeling. How much should we know about what we are consuming?

Briefing parliament's portfolio committee on agriculture, forestry and fisheries, University of Western Cape forensic scientist Dr Eugenia D'Amato said nearly 43% of samples she had tested which were labelled as game, were, in fact, beef.
D'Amato said horse meat had also been used as a substitute for springbok in biltong, and pork was found in ostrich sausages.
There was also a smaller proportion of kangaroo in samples.

Unfortunately, we are evidently eliminating healthy microorganisms in the processing of foods, but since there is an acceptable standard of nasty foreign entities, thanks to our regulatory agencies - we have introduced a variety of contaminants into now weakened guts and immune systems.

Boris Berezovsky 'was killed by the BRITISH secret service who feared he would return to Russia and spill state secrets', claims Putin ally
A post-mortem examination on Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky has found he was hanged, police said tonight.
The examination by a Home Office pathologist found nothing to indicate a violent struggle, a spokesman for Thames Valley Police said.
Further tests are now due to be carried out on the body of Mr Berezovsky, 67, who was found dead in his country home in Mill Lane, Ascot, Berkshire, on Saturday.
The news comes after a leading supporter of Vladimir Putin argued that Berezovsky may have been murdered by British spies from MI5 or MI6 to stop him leaking state secrets to the Russians.
Fears in the West that the tycoon was planning to make peace with the president and end his 13-year UK exile may have led to him being assassinated, Kremlin insider Sergei Markov has said.
After falling out with Putin in 2000, the 67-year-old fled to Britain where he was later given political asylum.
But after losing a £3billion High Court battle with Roman Abramovich last year, Berezovsky is said to have 'begged' for Putin's forgiveness in a letter and asked if could could return home.
'It became clear that he was ready to give out all information to the Russian secret services on those Western secret services who are trying to work on throwing Putin down. So they got rid of him,' Sergei Markov said today.

Retired Army Captain Warns DHS Acquisitions are ‘bold threat of war’ Against the American People

On Saturday, retired United States Army Captain Terry M. Hestilow publicly voiced grave concerns over the Department of Homeland Security’s absurd acquisitions, posting a letter he sent to Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) on Facebook labeling the Obama administration’s recent appropriation of weapons a “bold threat of war” against citizens of the United States of America.
“It
is with gravest concern that I write to you today concerning the recent
appropriation of weapons by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
that can only be understood as a bold threat of war by that agency, and
the Obama administration, against the citizens of the United States of
America,” the decorated retired Army Captain’s letter begins.
Referring to the DHS’ solicitations for nearly two billion rounds of ammunition
and recent purchase of almost 3,000 mine-resistant ambush protected
armored personnel carriers as “a tyrannical threat against the
Constitution” and a deliberate attempt to defund the Department of
Defense, the retired Army Captain asked Sen. Cornyn to honor his oath to
the American people and the U.S. Constitution and “to demand in clear
terms that the Administration cannot ignore, that the Department of
Homeland Security immediately surrender their newly appropriated weapons
of war to the Department of Defense (DoD).”
“Significant is the fact,” Captain Hestilow writes, “that at the same time the Obama administration is arming his DHS for war within the limits of the United States against the People of the United States in accordance with his 2008 campaign speech claiming,
Calling the DHS purchases a “glaring threat of war against our nation’s citizens,” Hestilow says the actions “can only be understood as a tyrannical threat against the Constitution of the United States of America.”
“If left unresolved,” Hestilow states, “the peace loving citizens who have sworn to defend the United States Constitution ‘against all enemies, both foreign and domestic’ are left no option except to prepare to defend themselves, and the U.S. Constitution, against this Administration’s ‘coup’ against the People and the foundations of liberty fought for and defended for the past 238 years. We have no choice if we honor our oaths.”
The former Army Captain cites Adolf Hitler’s rise to power as evidence of the outcome of allowing such an agency free rein, stating,
“One needs only to look to the rise of Adolf Hitler, and his associated DHS organizations, the SA and the SS, of 1932-1934, to see the outcome of allowing an agency of government this kind of control over the free citizens of a nation. The people of Germany could not have imagined, until it was too late, the danger of allowing a tyrant this kind of power. We must not be so naïve as to think it will not happen to us as well if we remain passive toward this power grab by the Marxist Obama administration!”
The
post is garnering unprecedented support, according to the retired
Captain. Within a day, he says it has received over 3,000 shares, in
addition to lassoing in 994 new friend requests. He is also encouraging
others to copy and properly amend the letter to send to their own
senators and members of the U.S. House.
The retired Army Captain’s message follows another letter
penned by 15 Congressmen earlier in the week to the DHS asking if the
ammo purchases were part of an effort to strategically deny American
people access to ammunition.
“The extraordinary level of ammunition purchases made by Homeland Security seems to have, in states such as my own, created an extreme shortage of ammunition to the point where many gun owners are unable to purchase any,” California Congressman Doug LaMalfa wrote in the letter.
Concerns that the DHS is engaged in a domestic arms buildup against the People have also been echoed by notable political figures and such mainstream publications as Forbes Magazine, who earlier this month called for a “national conversation” on the topic.
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was recently portrayed by media as a “conspiracy theorist” after she posted a remark on Facebook warning that imminent financial collapse could be the reason “why the Feds are stockpiling bullets in case of civil unrest.”
Similar concerns were also recently made public by Fox Business host Lou Dobbs when he asked NRA president Wayne LaPierre, during his March 4 broadcast, about the bizarre solicitations.
As an overwhelming number of Americans grow distressed over the curious purchases, mainstream media agencies, such as the Associated Press, Politico, Media Matters, and the Atlantic Wire, have frantically tried to tamp down speculation of a threat to civil liberties, refusing to conduct actual research into the subject and instead regurgitating superficial explanations issued by government officials.
A recent report that the DHS holds a $2 million contract with a firing range target manufacturer that produces shooting targets of armed pregnant women, children and elderly gun owners depicted in residential settings, has also not helped suppress speculation.
Despite numerous pleas to address the matter, the DHS has yet to issue a plausible explanation as to why they have apparently been building up a veritable ammunition and firearm stockpile domestically – purchasing profane amounts of riot gear, armored military vehicles, bulletproof checkpoints, and some 7,000 fully automatic assault rifles – and still refuses to answer questions from citizen journalists and multiple elected representatives.

Dear Senator Cornyn,
It is with gravest concern that I write to you today concerning the recent appropriation of weapons by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that can only be understood as a bold threat of war by that agency, and the Obama administration, against the citizens of the United States of America. To date, DHS has been unwilling to provide to you, the elected representatives of the People, justification for recent purchases of almost 3,000 mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) armored personnel carriers, 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition (with associated weapons), and other weapons systems, when, in fact, the DHS has no war mission or war making authority within the limits of the United States of America.
Significant is the fact that at the same time the Obama administration is arming his DHS for war within the limits of the United States against the People of the United States in accordance with his 2008 campaign speech claiming,
“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve gotta (sic) have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded [as the United States military]”–Candidate Barack Obama, 2008.
the Obama administration is deliberately defunding, overextending, and hollowing the Department of Defense; the only legitimate agency of the U.S. government with a war mission.
This act of the Obama administration stands as a glaring threat of war against our nation’s citizens! This act of the Obama administration can only be understood as a tyrannical threat against the Constitution of the United States of America! If left unresolved, the peace loving citizens who have sworn to defend the United States Constitution “against all enemies, both foreign and domestic” are left no option except to prepare to defend themselves, and the U.S. Constitution, against this Administration’s “coup” against the People and the foundations of liberty fought for and defended for the past 238 years. We have no choice if we honor our oaths.
The only proper response to this threat against the American people is for the representatives of the People, the members of the U.S. House and Senate, to demand in clear terms that the Administration cannot ignore, that the Department of Homeland Security immediately surrender their newly appropriated weapons of war to the Department of Defense (DoD). Further, since the DHS has assumed a position in the Administration to enforce the tyrannical acts of this president against the People of the United States against the limits of the United States Constitution, it remains for the United States Congress to exercise its limiting power in the balancing of powers established by our founding fathers, to disestablish and dissolve the DHS as soon as possible. One needs only to look to the rise of Adolf Hitler, and his associated DHS organizations, the SA and the SS, of 1932-1934, to see the outcome of allowing an agency of government this kind of control over the free citizens of a nation. The people of Germany could not have imagined, until it was too late, the danger of allowing a tyrant this kind of power. We must not be so naïve as to think it will not happen to us as well if we remain passive toward this power grab by the Marxist Obama administration!
Finally, for more than two centuries the nation has lived in peace at home because of the protections of our legitimate military and the many appropriate state and federal law enforcement agencies, supported by Constitutional courts. We stand today at a cross-road. Will we allow this present Administration to overthrow our United States Constitution and its legal processes to amend injustices, or, will we honor our obligations to defend the Constitution against a “domestic” enemy? Our Constitution lays out the proper methods of resolving our differences; and it does not include its overthrow by a rogue agency of a Marxist leadership at home. You, sir, are our constitutionally elected agent to defend our Constitution at home. We are counting upon you. We remain aware, however, of this present threat and will not expose ourselves as an easy prey to the authors of the destruction of our nation.
I know that this letter demands much of you. We elected you because we, the citizens of the State of Texas, believe that you are up to the task at hand and will, against all threats, honor your oath and office. We are also writing to your fellow members of the House and Senate to stand in integrity with the Constitution and against this present threat by the Obama administration and his DHS.

This act of the Obama administration stands as a glaring threat of war against our nation’s citizens! This act of the Obama administration can only be understood as a tyrannical threat against the Constitution of the United States of America! If left unresolved, the peace loving citizens who have sworn to defend the United States Constitution “against all enemies, both foreign and domestic” are left no option except to prepare to defend themselves, and the U.S. Constitution, against this Administration’s “coup” against the People and the foundations of liberty fought for and defended for the past 238 years. We have no choice if we honor our oaths.
The only proper response to this threat against the American people is for the representatives of the People, the members of the U.S. House and Senate, to demand in clear terms that the Administration cannot ignore, that the Department of Homeland Security immediately surrender their newly appropriated weapons of war to the Department of Defense (DoD). Further, since the DHS has assumed a position in the Administration to enforce the tyrannical acts of this president against the People of the United States against the limits of the United States Constitution, it remains for the United States Congress to exercise its limiting power in the balancing of powers established by our founding fathers, to disestablish and dissolve the DHS as soon as possible. One needs only to look to the rise of Adolf Hitler, and his associated DHS organizations, the SA and the SS, of 1932-1934, to see the outcome of allowing an agency of government this kind of control over the free citizens of a nation. The people of Germany could not have imagined, until it was too late, the danger of allowing a tyrant this kind of power. We must not be so naïve as to think it will not happen to us as well if we remain passive toward this power grab by the Marxist Obama administration!
Finally, for more than two centuries the nation has lived in peace at home because of the protections of our legitimate military and the many appropriate state and federal law enforcement agencies, supported by Constitutional courts. We stand today at a cross-road. Will we allow this present Administration to overthrow our United States Constitution and its legal processes to amend injustices, or, will we honor our obligations to defend the Constitution against a “domestic” enemy? Our Constitution lays out the proper methods of resolving our differences; and it does not include its overthrow by a rogue agency of a Marxist leadership at home. You, sir, are our constitutionally elected agent to defend our Constitution at home. We are counting upon you. We remain aware, however, of this present threat and will not expose ourselves as an easy prey to the authors of the destruction of our nation.
I know that this letter demands much of you. We elected you because we, the citizens of the State of Texas, believe that you are up to the task at hand and will, against all threats, honor your oath and office. Cyprus bank insolvency crisis quickly escalating; may set off EU bankageddon
(NaturalNews) As you may have suspected, there's far more to the Cyprus bank crisis story than meets the eye. It turns out the shutdown of Cypriot banks has caused a large-scale financial shutdown of the Russian government which uses Cyprus banks for most transactions.
On top of that, the EU central bank (ECB) has now issued an ultimatum that threatens to revoke all financial support and crash the Cypriot banks if they can't come up with 5.8 billion Euros by Monday. Reuters reports:
The European Central Bank, which has kept Cyprus's banks operating with a liquidity lifeline, said the government had until Monday to get a deal in place, or funds would be cut off - putting not just the Cypriot economy in jeopardy but billions of euros held on the island by foreigners, notably from Russia.
USA Today reports, "If it does not find a way by Monday, the European Central Bank said it will cut off emergency support to the banks, letting them collapse. That would throw the country into financial chaos and, ultimately, cause it to leave the eurozone, with unpredictable consequences for the region."
Until then, the banks remain closed, and everybody knows the minute they open, every account holder will immediately transfer their money out of the banks, causing a near-instant bank run and a collapse.
The worry across the eurozone now is that this imminent bank collapse will trigger account holders in Greece to start taking their money out of the bank, too. The Greek banking system is already in such sad shape that it only takes a very small percentage of account holders withdrawing their funds -- perhaps 5% or so -- to topple Greek banks. That's because the banks are roughly 95% leveraged with fractional reserve accounts and complex debt instruments.
Once bank runs begin in Greece, they will spread across the EU. Fear will kick in everywhere and depositors will run on the banks in Spain, Italy and even the UK. Germany is arguably in the safest position to defend against bank runs, but even its banks are unwisely leveraged beyond reasonable ratios.
Importantly -- and here's the real point nobody is talking about -- Russia may be willing to let Cypriot banks collapse and lose a lot of money itself, knowing that the aftermath of a collapse may set off a chain reaction of bank collapses across the EU.
EU authorities seem to anticipate this possibility and they are already talking about dropping Cyprus from the EU as quickly as possible. As Yahoo News reports:

Cyprus government's 'great bank robbery' of private accounts may set off bank runs across Europe
(NaturalNews) There's only one reason people leave money in a bank: because they think it's safe there. They think they can get their money back out when they ask for it. This trust is what makes bank accounts possible, and without this trust, there is no longer any reason to put money in any bank.

"I believe it could be the beginning of the end for the Eurozone as this is an unbelievable blow to the already challenged trust that might be left among investors," wrote Lars Seier Christensen, CEO of Saxo Bank. (SOURCE)
He continues: "If you can confiscate 10 percent of a bank customer's money, you can confiscate 25, 50 or even 100 percent. I now believe we will see worse as the panic increases, with politicians desperately trying to keep the EUR alive."
And that's the point here. If a government can instantly steal 10% of your savings, it can also steal 100%. So what's the point of putting money in a bank at all? The only people who didn't get ripped off by the Cyprus government were people who had nothing in bank deposits!
Banks even went to great lengths to stop customers from getting away with their own money. "Cypriot banks banned online transfers and emptied cashpoints to stop withdrawals," reports the Daily Mail. "Economists warned the move would fatally undermine confidence in the safety of money being held in banks in other countries, risking bank runs across the eurozone."
Get ready for the announcement of "bank holidays" across the EU. A bank holiday means the bank closes its doors and refuses to allow you access to your own money. Bank holidays are the last red alert warning sign before a systemic banking system collapse. If you hear an announcement of a bank holiday at your bank, you're already too late. The only way to protect your savings is to get it out of the banks before they declare bank holidays.
"The raid on bank accounts risks triggering new convulsions in the financial crisis that began in 2009 in Greece," reports Bloomberg.com. It continues:
The [looting] is "a worrying precedent with potentially systemic consequences if depositors in other periphery countries fear a similar treatment in the future," Joachim Fels, chief economist at Morgan Stanley in London, wrote in a client note.
FDIC insurance is a mathematical hoax... a delusion. The FDIC only has a tiny fraction of the funds it would need to bail out account holders in a systemic banking failure. If just 5% of the banking institutions in the USA went belly up, the FDIC would be bankrupt itself.
The FDIC, accordingly, is no protection against systemic failure. It can only really protect account holders of isolated, rare bank failures that do not happen as part of a systemic collapse. eBay insurance scam exposed: You're often buying insurance that excludes the very items you're purchasing
(NaturalNews) Lawyers will tell you there is no such thing as an open-and-shut case, but when a company's insurance doesn't cover the very items the company is selling, it sure seems like open-and-shut to us. Unfortunately, so far, a court of law has not agreed.
A federal judge in the Northern District of California has tossed out a suit charging that eBay's ShipCover insurance is worthless because the coverage excludes the exact items that the online auction site ships.
Luke Knowles, lead plaintiff in the case, claimed that eBay knew its insurance "excludes entire categories of products from coverage, but intentionally conceals that information from sellers who want to buy insurance," Courthouse News Service reported.
The excuse? 'We told you the item you bought a policy for wasn't covered'
According to court documents, Knowles allegedly made a claim to ShipCover after he refunded a buyer who informed him that a package he sent arrived at a buyer's destination open with the coin he had purchased missing. He said eBay subsequently denied the claim because the "item insured is on the list of items that are ineligible for coverage," the suit said.
Knowles filed his federal complaint in October 2012 against eBay; eBay Insurance Services; Brown & Brown, a St. Louis law firm; and Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. - for illusory and unconscionable contract and other alleged wrongs.
The plaintiff said in his complaint that he had "been aware that the exact item he sought to insure was excluded from the policy, he never would have purchased ShipCover insurance because it was worthless. In fact, no person would purchase this insurance for any of the excluded categories if they were aware of the exclusions as it defeats the entire purpose of the insurance."
"These exclusions are not evident on the checkout page, even though that page offers the insurance, sets the insured value and ... determines the price of insurance," he said in his claim.
One insurance underwriter for the online auction site told the federal court that ShipCover clearly lists its exclusion of coins and other others from coverage, even though the company has no problem actually selling such policies to anyone who wants one.
A witness from Fireman's Fund said pretty much the same thing - and that Knowles knew the policy he purchased excluded coins, Courthouse News reported.
"Plaintiff admits he chose ShipCover insurance over the other options after he clicked a box affirming that he 'read and agreed to the terms and conditions of ShipCover insurance,'" the motion to dismiss stated. "Yet, the terms and conditions of ShipCover insurance, which plaintiff alleges Fireman's Fund Insurance Company ('FFIC') underwrites, clearly excluded coverage for coins and gift cards."
U.S. District Judge Phyllis Hamilton threw out the negligence claim March 7, giving Knowles an opportunity to re-file his claim in the future with better supporting facts as they pertain to the elements of his claim. That includes duty and breach as to eBay and Brown & Brown, the court news site said.
But...but...the insurer sold the policy anyway
The judge also dismissed the rest of Knowles claims pertaining to allegations that ShipCover was in breach of contract by dismissing his claim for reimbursement, asking plaintive to "state a single cause of action for breach of contract or other contract-related claim, as it is not clear whether plaintiff is asserting that there was or was not a contract to which he was a party or third-party beneficiary. Each defendant's role must be specifically identified."
The court said Knowles will also have to identify the law that eBay and its insurance firm allegedly violated, indicating they engaged in unfair business practices, and further explain why they are unfair before the court will once again consider his claims. Finally, Hamilton also said she was tossing Knowles' claim that the insurer was engaging in unjust enrichment.
eBay's insurer may "clearly state" what items are and are not covered, but where is the justification in selling a policy to a customer for an uncovered item, knowing you won't pay if the customer makes a claim? Apparently, federal courts don't recognize this scam for what it is.

Not surprisingly, bank customers freaked out across Cyprus and began lining up in front of ATMs to withdraw as much cash as possible, causing fears of bank runs.
This seizing of private funds held in bank accounts is being called a "bailout" by eurozone cleptocrats. Healthy baby kidnapped in Minnesota, force-fed drugs by medical community and court system

Dianne Feinstein’s assault weapon ban now appears to be a little more than decoy sent out to be shot down while the real work on gun control legislation is hammered out by Democrats, Republicans and the NRA behind closed doors.
Senate Democrat Schumer insists universal background checks do not harm the Second Amendment right of Americans.
According to sources cited by Ammoland.com, the “NRA is cutting back room deals to centralize gun owner data collection into the Obama/Holder massive government data base.” Republicans are working with Democrats to pass legislation that will require records be kept on all gun sales and also move to streamline and improve the database.
“Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor is leading the charge to give Obama and Holder what they want in exchange for appearing to be ‘fixing’ the problem of innocent children being butchered in our public and private schools,” the website reports.
The collusion reaches all the way to the top of the Republican party. “Newly appointed Republican Judiciary Chairman, Bob Goodlatte R-VA 6th District, is providing political cover for the sneaky back room gun control deals and gun grabbing sell outs that his political masters - – John Boehner and Eric Cantor – are cutting [deals] with Obama and his corrupt Attorney General, Eric Holder.”
Goodlette is also colluding with Virginia Republican Congressman Scott Rigell on his House version of Vermont Senator Pat Leahy’s S. 443, titled “The Forced Gun Owner Registration Act” by Ammoland.com.
If Leahey’s bill is enacted, Republicans and the NRA will claim they saved the Second Amendment by preventing Feinstein’s gun-grabbing bill from clearing the Senate.
At the same time, the establishment media has rolled out a number of public survey polls claiming Americans overwhelmingly approve of registering nearly all firearms under a universal background check scheme.
Bipartisan negotiations hit a snag in the Senate due to demands by Oklahoma Republican Tom Coburn, who opposes record keeping aspects of the Democrat assault on the Second Amendment.
“Coburn got hung up on record keeping. Under the bill, all guns sold at gun shows would require a background check, and the seller would keep a record of the sale — just as federally-licensed retailers do now,” the Chicago Tribune reported on Sunday.
The newspaper said if Coburn’s version of the legislation is enacted, private sales between individuals “would not be turned over to the government. It would not become part of a national database. It would not lead to mass gun confiscation.”
On Tuesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved Sen. Chuck Schumer’s “ideal approach” proposal to broaden background check requirements for all gun sales in the United States, including measures Coburn opposed. The vote went straight down partisan lines, as expected.
Passing the measure out of the committee indicates a potential compromise between Democrats and Republicans and signals that the bill stands a good chance of getting the 60 votes required to pass in the Senate.
Last week bipartisan negotiations fizzled as Coburn stuck to his guns on record keeping and the prospect of a massive expansion of a database that will ultimately be used by the Justice Department when the government decides to conduct a national confiscation of firearms similar to past confiscations in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Britain.
Democrats will now try to marginalize Coburn and find a Republican “partner” to collude with them against the Second Amendment.

Bayer to force India patients to pay monopolistic prices for its drugs
(NaturalNews) What does virtually every multinational corporation adore? Answer: A monopoly on its products. Less or no competition, you see, means higher profits and without regard to consumers' pocketbooks.
That might be one reason to explain why German Big Pharma corporation Bayer has said it will challenge a decision by Indian officials to allow production of a cheaper generic copy of its patented cancer drug.
The decision came after India last year agreed to allow Natco Pharma to produce the drug Nexavar. On March 4, the Indian patent appeal's office rejected Bayer's bid to overturn that ruling, to which the company said it "strongly" disagreed and would appeal to the high court in Mumbai.
Research is expensive, but theft or counterfeiting is worse
The BBC reported that Bayer sells the drug for 280,000 rupees ($5,118) for a 120-tablet pack - expensive, by any estimation.
"Bayer is committed to protecting its patents for Nexavar and will rigorously continue to defend our intellectual property rights within the Indian legal system," the company said in a statement, which was quoted by The Associated Press.
And while acknowledging that research and development is both necessary and expensive, health groups have nonetheless applauded the Indian decision because they know that if allowed to stand, it will lead to more affordable versions of previously patented medications.
"The decision means that the way has been paved for compulsory licenses to be issued on other drugs, now patented in India and priced out of affordable reach, to be produced by generic companies and sold at a fraction of the price," said Leena Menghaney, of the medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres, according to BBC.
The Nexavar case is the first one in India where a company has been granted a "compulsory license" to manufacture a patented drug. Under the ruling, Natco must pay seven percent of its royalties to Bayer as compensation.
The decision comes as the pharmaceutical industry is exploding in India, a burgeoning nation of more than 1.2 billion people, many of which still live in abject poverty. The industry there is worth $12 billion annually and is expected to grow four-fold over the next 10 years.
But the country also has a serious problem; it is increasingly inundated with phony medications.
Phony drugs a bigger problem than cheaper alternatives for real drugs
Writing in The Wall Street Journal in May 2010, Roger Bate, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, said Indian authorities were cracking down on phony pharmaceuticals but that the problem was daunting: During a series of raids, agents with India's Food and Drug Administration of the Indian State of Uttar Pradesh uncovered large quantities of substandard medicines which resulted in several arrests:
This evidence of India's fake drug trade jibes with what I've found in several surveys. In 2009, I looked at five important medicines being sold at 52 different pharmacies in Delhi and Chennai, using covert shoppers. In Dehli, 12 percent of the pills were substandard, as were five percent in Chennai. About two percent of the pills contained no active ingredient. The others did but it had degraded, probably because the pills had expired and been repackaged with new labels; some may have degraded through poor storage.
Because of the enormity of the country and its population, coupled with far less regulatory oversight than here in the U.S., estimates of just how big the problem really is vary wildly. The BBC reported that up to a quarter of the medicines "consumed in poor countries could be counterfeit or substandard, according to the World Health Organization."
It's big business. Counterfeit drugs - in which no royalties are paid to patent-holders, by the way, amount to about $200 billion annually worldwide. What's more, "producers need very little inventory to set up the manufacturing process and can make huge profits."
This problem is especially worrisome to Indian officials.
"With manufacturing costs nearly 40 percent cheaper than other countries, the authorities are worried India could become an easy target for counterfeiters," said BBC.
