JetBlue pilot in mid-air Al-Qaeda outburst broke through plastic restraint ties

A JetBlue pilot who had a mid-air meltdown and rammed the cockpit doors during a rant about al-Qaeda managed to break through plastic restraint ties used to handcuff him, it was revealed today.

JetBlue 191 flight from New York to Las Vegas, Nevada, was diverted to Amarillo, Texas, for an emergency landing Tuesday morning after the pilot, identified as Clayton Osbon, suddenly began screaming about terror threats and bombs from outside the cockpit.

Tony Antolino, a passenger who helped subdue the pilot, said the plastic restraints on board were flimsy and systematically failed. Passengers on the flight were rattled, and several had to restrain the pilot after his meltdown by sitting on him.

  1. He put so many lives in danger because of his crazy meltdown. I feel for those passengers, the one person you need to trust is the Pilot.
