Using hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is another way eliminate toxic chemicals from your home. H2O2 is basicly water and oxygen (how green is that!) yet it is a disinfectant, an antiseptic and oxidizer! Though the FDA has approved using hydrogen peroxide as a mouthwash you can use on anything you would normally use bleach for. And so much more!
Hydrogen peroxide is already inexpensive but you can find larger bottles of 3% H2O2 at warehouse stores. You can also buy food grade H2O2 at some drugstores and online. This solution is usually 35% hydrogen peroxide which is very strong and needs to be diluted and handled very carefully. Chemists say anything over 8% H2O2 is corrosive so you just need to take care. Keep your H2O2 stored in a dark bottle as light will destroy its beneficial properties.
With its strong anti-viral, antiseptic and disinfectant properties, hydrogen peroxide has many uses! Keep in mind that all of the following suggestions are using a 3% solution!!
