This research provides the first scientific evidence about EDP's potent anti-cancer and anti-metastatic effects.

Lead study author, Dr. Guodong Zhang commented "Our investigation opens up a new understanding of the pathways by which omega-3 fatty acids exert their biologic effects... as far as we know, EDPs are the first signaling lipids that have been discovered to have such potent anti-cancer effects." Researchers found that as EDPs are broken down through normal body enzymatic metabolism, the metabolites of these lipids can act to suppress the growth of new blood vessels that are necessary to feed tumor growth.

The researchers also found that an imbalance of omega-6 fats to omega-3 fats that occurs in a diet high in sunflower and corn oils produces a metabolite known as arachidonic acid (ARA) that has the opposite effect of EDP. ARA increases angiogenesis and tumor progression and is a primary dietary cause of cancer development and metastasis. The study team concluded "Our results designate EDP as a unique mediator of an angiogenic switch to regulate tumorigenesis." Additionally the scientists have established a firm link between omega-6 and omega-3 fat ratios in the development of cancer. Nutrition experts recommend 1,200 to 2,400 mg of EPA/DHA from a distilled fish oil supplement to lower the risk from cardiovascular disease and cancer progression.

Additionally, you can avoid Google search by using an alternative like Ixquick (https://ixquick.com/eng/), which has solid privacy credentials and says it does not log any IP addresses or search terms or share information with third parties.

Want to send protected email? You can do that as well. If you happen to be using a commercial email provider like Google, Yahoo! or another service identified as having been co-opted by PRISM, the NSA's snoop program, you can certainly slow down the agency by sending and receiving emails encrypted with PGP (Pretty Good Privacy), which has been around for years, or a free alternative, GPG (http://www.gnupg.org/). Set-up takes some time but it'll be worth it

For instant messaging and online phone or video chats, you can avoid Microsoft and Google services like Skype and Gchat by adopting more secure alternatives. Technology advances have made it nearly effortless for governments to spy on citizens. That the agency received permission to do so from the FISA court - which conducts its business in secret - is not the same thing as having the authority to do so. If that were the case federal courts could grant any number of federal agencies permission to violate every single provision of the Constitution.

That said, it is highly unlikely those responsible for ordering the NSA to spy on American citizens are going to be reprimanded, so the best thing you can do in the meantime is protect your electronic communications as best as you can.

Two patients die after being injected with Eli Lilly's schizophrenia drug

(NaturalNews) A popular injection-based drug for schizophrenia is under investigation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) following the recent deaths of two patients who were given the jab for their mental conditions. Reuters reports that extremely high levels of Eli Lilly and Co.'s Zyprexa Relprevv, a spinoff of the multi-billion dollar, oral-based Zyprexa drug, were found circulating in the patients' bloodstreams, which points to the drug as the direct cause of the deaths.

The FDA already recognizes that Zyprexa Relprevv can cause a condition known as post-injection delirium sedation syndrome, or PDSS, which involves too much of the active drug compound entering a patient's bloodstream at once. Patients who develop PDSS following injection with Zyprexa Relprevv can end up suffering from more serious health conditions like cardiopulmonary arrest, heart rhythm problems, sedation, dementia, and even prolonged coma.

But these deadly side effects are apparently not that big of a deal to the FDA, which has continued to support the "safe" use of Zyprexa Relprevv for schizophrenia patients despite dozens of similar deaths caused by the drug in recent years. At least 82 patients have died after being jabbed with Zyprexa Relprevv in the past, but these latest deaths finally got the attention of the FDA due to their undeniable correlation with high circulating levels of the antipsychotic drug in the victims' bloodstreams.

"These deaths are unique because we have postmortem blood levels (of the drug) that were very high," FDA spokeswoman Sandy Walsh is quoted as saying by Reuters.

According to the FDA, both of the victims reportedly received "appropriate doses" of Zyprexa Relprevv prior to their deaths, which occurred three or four days after receiving the drug. And yet Eli Lilly spokeswoman Morry Smulevitz is quoted by numerous sources as defending the supposed "safety" of the drug, referring to it as being "absolutely necessary" for mental patients.

Though not nearly as highly profiting as the original Zyprexa formula, Zyprexa Relprevv saw global sales that nearly eclipsed $60 million in 2012. According to FDA drug data, roughly 45,000 people have taken the injection worldwide since it received FDA approval in 2009. To this day, the original Zyprexa drug has been Eli Lilly's top selling drug, once topping $5 billion in annual revenues before cheaper generics eventually hit the market.

Despite all the "unknowns" surrounding these latest two deaths from Zyprexa Relprevv, it is clear to any rational thinking person that, based on the evidence, the drug was directly responsible. And yet the FDA is once again coalescing the drug industry by "investigating" the situation without consequence rather than immediately pulling the drug from the market until the investigation is complete.

This is typical behavior for the FDA when it comes to drugs - approve the drugs now, ask questions later. But if Zyprexa Relprevv had been raw milk in this case, you can be sure the agency would have immediately raised hell and tried to ban all production, sale, trade, etc. of raw milk across America. This is the pathetic double standard that exists at the FDA today, and is the primary reason why the corrupt agency needs to be either systematically reformed or completely deconstructed for the safety of the American people.

"[T]he FDA has essentially become a hired gun for the pharmaceutical industry," explains the health freedom advocacy group Alliance for Natural Health - USA (ANH-USA), which is calling for complete FDA reform.

At least this is what the "father" of ADHD, Leon Eisenberg, would presumably say if he were still alive. And another one million or so children have been blatantly and admittedly misdiagnosed with phony behavioral conditions for which psychiatric medications are being prescribed.

"Remember, there are two ways drug companies can make money: Invent new drugs, and invent new diseases already invented drugs can treat," writes Dr. Jay Parkinson, M.D., M.P.H., about the fake disease-creation industry. "In the past decade or so, Big Pharma has created no less than 10 new novel drugs per year," he adds, noting that many of the people who have been told they suffer from ADHD actually suffer from "the consequence of bad design," meaning a conventional social and educational system that is unable and unwilling to recognize unique individuality.

(NaturalNews) Not only is Big Brother's surveillance leviathan growing larger by the day but it has become a most arrogant creature as well, operating at will against the people - or, perhaps more appropriately in this case, operating against the will of the people.

The latest example originates in Florida, where a school district scanned and catalogued the irises of hundreds of students without the permission of their parents.

According to TheLedger.com:

The unraveling began in late May, when the Polk County School District sent home a letter to parents. A new pilot program, it explained, will track bus riders using a feature unique to every child - their irises.

Parents could opt out, but by the time they learned about it, a company named Stanley Convergent Security Solutions had already captured images of about 750 children's eyes.

Um, opps! Sorry...

Immediately upon discovering what had occurred, school officials both halted the pilot program amid a torrent of parental complaints and blamed their failure to notify parents ahead of time to a "clerical error." Rob Davis, district administrator for transportation and school security departments, said his secretary emailed the parental notification letter late to principals, who then would have sent it onto parents.

There was more to it than that, however. According to TheLedger.com, emails sent between other district staffers - in addition to interviews the paper conducted with administrators - indicate that the late letter "was only one of multiple behind-the-scenes mistakes that left parents and some top school administrators in the dark, allowing a company to collect children's biometric information without the parents' knowledge."

According to the records:

-- Under terms of the pilot program, it would have remained in operation at no cost to the school district for 60 days, though that still required a contract. However, district staffers permitted Stanley Convergent onto three separate school campuses and allowed them to scan the irises of children before a contract was ever finalized;

-- Interim school superintendent at the time, John Stewart, was to have final approval over the contract. As Stanley Convergent prepared to begin collecting iris scans, Davis told staffers to send Stewart the contract, but it never made it to Stewart, meaning the district's top official did not learn about the program until the scans had already taken place;

-- In addition, members of the district's staff never discussed the program with Stewart in person. That includes Lum Thornhill, assistant director of operations, as well as Ann Marshall, "a safe schools specialist who is also assigned to the superintendent's office to handle public records requests."

The excuse offered for this rash of failures borders on the criminal.

"It's just a busy place," Marshall told TheLedger.com. "And unless you have an appointment to move something ahead, it's not like you have an opportunity to chitchat. It's not that anyone didn't want to tell him (Stewart)."

And yet, had the process been followed, said Wes Bridges, an attorney for the school board, the iris scan program would have been stopped until parents could have been notified.

"It was almost a comedy of errors," Bridges said - only there is nothing funny about collecting the data of children without permission.

'They have no concept of what they've done'

Many parents whose kids were caught up in the "comedy of errors" weren't laughing either - or buying the excuses.

Connie Turlington, who was upset that her 11-year-old son was scanned, said what happened did not appear to the outsider as a coincidence. "It sounds like a simple case of it's better to ask forgiveness than permission," Turlington told TheLedger.com.

April Serrano, whose eight-year-old son was scanned at a district school, was angry. "They have no concept of what they've done here," Serrano said. "I feel like my son's civil rights were violated."

Thus are the pitfalls of the rising surveillance leviathan - arrogant, dismissive and getting larger every day.

Perhaps by staying positive, the global warming fearmongers and doom-and-gloomers can calm down, take a few breaths (with extra CO2) and recognize that what's good for plants is good for the planet.

In fact, I'm going to hyperventilate after writing this article just to generate a little extra CO2 for the world. It's my gift to Al Gore.

For the record: NO, I don't support burning fossil fuels

The No. 1 criticism of this story by the brainwashed hoards of Al Gore cult worshippers will be that I must have been paid big bucks by the coal industry to write this article.

Don't be ridiculous. I'm the record -- for at least a decade -- having exhaustively condemned the burning of fossil fuels. Even though the CO2 they release into the atmosphere is actually a nutrient, they release many other pollutants such as sulfur and mercury (from coal). Scrubbers in the USA make U.S. coal plants the cleanest in the world, but China's coal plants are truly sickening pollution factories.

I also believe it's time to get humanity off the petrochemical habit and onto something cleaner and more renewable such as low-energy nuclear reactions (LENR), formerly called "cold fusion." Recent analysis has confirmed, yet again, that cold fusion is real and practical. Cold fusion could be harnessed and used in place of coal to heat large quantities of water that drive steam turbines which generate electricity.

In time, all of America's coal power plants could be switched over to cold fusion. Similarly, if improved battery technology comes along, gasoline-powered vehicles could be switched over to electricity, and if that electricity is powered by cold fusion, then it's clean all the way through the energy supply chain.

Fossil fuels are dirty business: they're dirty to extract from the ground, dirty to transport and dirty to burn. But the CO2 they produce is not a pollutant; it's a nutrient that's desperately needed by trees, grasses and shrubs all around the world. So while there are lots of reasons to oppose the burning of fossil fuels around our planet, CO2 is not legitimately one of them.

If all this talk makes you hyperventilate, then feel free to experience a hefty dose of self-inflicted guilt that you can alleviate only by sending all your money to Al Gore for all the carbon dioxide you're generating.

Huge number of Britons want handgun ban repealed

(NaturalNews) The Second Amendment's guarantee of a citizen's right to keep and bear arms for self-defense and other purposes is a key provision of the United States Constitution, but it is an inherent human right that a growing number of British subjects would like to utilize.

The Telegraph, a British newspaper, asked readers recently to submit proposed changes to British law they would like their Ministers of Parliament to introduce. Among them was a repeal of Britain's ban on the ownership of handguns. Per the paper:

Repeal the ban on hand guns and re-open shooting clubs, proposed by Colliemum. They write: "After all, why should only criminals be 'allowed' to possess guns and shoot unarmed, defenseless citizens and police officers?"

Or British soldiers.

Disarmed before those who would do them harm

The suggestion that British law be changed to allow new shooting clubs and handgun ownership comes just weeks after a British soldier was beheaded on the streets of London outside his military barracks in broad daylight by a pair of knife-wielding jihadists who had no fear whatsoever that their victim would himself be armed.

"We have suffered these attacks before, we have always beaten them back," Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron said in the aftermath of the attack. "We will not be cowed, we will never buckle."

No - just slaughtered. Senselessly. Because the right of self-defense, the most basic of human rights, is being denied to Britons every single day.

According to the paper, as of this writing more than 15,000 votes had been cast in an unscientific poll backing repeal of British gun bans. Of those, some 13,000 supported repeal of a 1997 ban, or about 85 percent of the vote. In fact, the gun ban repeal far outpaced votes for other measures British subjects want to see introduced in the House of Commons.

For those who trace Britain's gun-ban history, the 1997 law was enacted following a school massacre in Dunblane. Noted the Commentator:

While gun crime soared after the British ban in 1997, rates of gun violence have fallen, especially in British cities, following more spending by police forces into tackling gun crime. Police in England and Wales recorded 5,911 firearms offenses in 2011/12, a reduction of 42 percent compared with nine years earlier, according to the Office for National Statistics.

But statistics from the United States show that guns are used by citizens to defend themselves around 80 times more often than they are used to take a life. A recent study published in the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy concluded that there is a negative correlation between gun ownership and violent crime in countries internationally, that is, 'where firearms are most dense violent crime rates are lowest, and where guns are least dense violent crime rates are highest.'

Gun bans empower terrorists and criminals

According to newly released Department of Justice figures, firearm-related homicides fell 39 percent over the course of 18 years in the U.S. During that same period, non-fatal firearms crimes have fallen a whopping 69 percent - statistics that would no doubt be reflected throughout Great Britain, were parliamentarians serious about crime reduction.

In July 2009, The Telegraph reported, in fact, that Britain was Europe's violent-crime capital:

Analysis of figures from the European Commission showed a 77 percent increase in murders, robberies, assaults and sexual offenses in the UK since Labour came to power.

Further, "the UK had a greater number of murders in 2007 than any other EU country - 927 - and at a relative rate higher than most western European neighbors, including France, Germany, Italy and Spain," the paper said.

Clearly a growing number of British citizens are sick and tired of being helpless before violent criminals. If British politicians aren't cowards, they will do the people's bidding and repeal gun bans that do nothing but empower terrorists and criminals.
