Plane Crash Prank Reveals How Corporate Media Reads Mindlessly from Teleprompter Scripts

It’s another example of how mindless and untrustworthy the corporate media is. Earlier today, a news anchor at a San Francisco Bay Fox affiliate, KTVU, read the supposed names of the flight crew of Asiana flight 214, which crashed last Saturday at San Francisco International Airport. The names – “Sum Ting Wong,” “Wi Tu Lo,” “Ho Lee Fuk,” and “Bang Ding Ow” – are obviously fake, but the clueless anchor, reading straight from the screen of her teleprompter, didn’t pick up on the joke.



The incident created a media firestorm with accusations of racism leveled at the Fox station. The station quickly apologized and said it received the names from the Transportation Safety Board. The NTSB then issued a statement saying “a summer intern acted outside the scope of his authority when he erroneously confirmed the names of the flight crew on the aircraft” and promised that appropriate actions will be taken to make sure “such a serious error is not repeated.”
The real story here, however, has little to do with government ineptitude or racism. It has to do with fact the corporate media and its groomed and coiffured talking heads read from scripts. Much of what passes for news is in fact propaganda read directly from corporate and governmental scripts. The Edward R. Murrow style reportage is a thing of the past.
It looks like the Fox affiliate may fire the anchor. But why? She was simply doing her job – faithfully reading a script like practically every other news anchor in thew country. If the Bay TV station plans to fire her, just about every other television news station in the country should follow suit and show their script readers the door too.

It’s not just governments that are using cellphone location data to spy on citizens – banks are now getting in on the act too – with Barclays announcing changes to its customer agreement that will open the door to individuals being tracked in the name of preventing fraud.

Barclays’ new customer agreement terms (PDF) – set to come into force from October 9, 2013, will also permit the bank to collect social networking data as well as using private transaction information to bombard customers with unsolicited “services and products”.

“The information we use will include location data derived from any mobile device details you have given us. This helps us protect you from fraud,” states the document.

This suggests that phone companies in Britain must have given Barclays some kind of back door access to people’s private cellphones in order to track their precise location, whether in real time or after potential fraud has been reported.

All modern cellphones can be tracked down a location which is accurate within 50 meters. Police, governments and corporations already use such data to spy on individuals for both surveillance and data harvesting.

The changes also state that Barclays will track the behavior of its customers via social media. The bank will also retain “images of you or recordings of your voice” in addition to monitoring “transactions on your account, to increase our understanding of services and products that you may wish to use so we can send you information about them.”

The 19-year-old pageant winner said, "The best way to describe it, we were literally treated like animals - both of us. We showed them valid license, registration, plates," but she said, "No one would listen."

"They threw mom against the car and they handcuffed her," Abreu continued, claiming the officers taunted her further, "They were like, 'Oh, where's the party?'" Abreu said.

The officers then continued to frisk and handcuff the two women, confiscating the sash and crown of the beauty queen, who was dressed up and headed to her next event. They were further humiliated and detained in a cell at the 32nd Precinct in Harlem.

The officers have justified the entire arrest on the notion that the car the ladies were driving had come up stolen according to their police computer system.

Now the stolen car claim is being called a computer glitch.

Abreu and her mother have filed suit against the NYPD for $210 million.

Commissioner Ray Kelly said he could not comment but the NYPD is further investigating the matter.

Dr. Burzynski the Movie Part II - Watch free for a limited time

Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski received much deserved publicity with the release of the 2011 film, Burzynski—The Movie.
Eric Merola’s award-winning documentary showcased Dr. Burzynski’s remarkable cancer discovery for all the world to see, and explained how he won the largest and possibly the most convoluted and intriguing legal battles against the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in American history.
Dr. Burzynski’s story now continues in the compelling follow-up film: Burzynski—Cancer Is Serious Business, Part II. This second film details his continued struggles and victories, and explores the current status of Antineoplastons’ clinical testing—now (finally) sanctioned by the FDA.

Dr. Burzynski's Cancer Treatment

Dr. Burzynski, trained as both a biochemist and a physician, has spent the last 35+ years developing and successfully treating cancer patients suffering with some of the most lethal forms of cancer at his clinic in Houston, Texas.
The treatment he developed involves a gene-targeted approach using non-toxic peptides and amino acids, known as Antineoplastons. I personally interviewed Dr. Burzynski about his treatment in the summer of 2011.
He coined the term ”antineoplastons” and defines them as peptides and derivatives of amino acids that act as molecular switches. However, as genome research blossomed and science progressed, Dr. Burzynski discovered that antineoplastons also work as genetic switches.
They actually turn off the genes that cause cancer (oncogenes), and turn on or activate tumor suppressor genes—genes that fight cancer. His treatment strategy, which he refers to as “Personalized Gene Targeted Cancer Therapy,” includes mapping the patient's entire cancer genome.
This involves analyzing some 24,000 genes in order to identify the abnormal genes. Once they've determined which genes are involved in the cancer, drugs and supplements are identified to target those specific genes.
Antineoplastons work on approximately 100 cancer-causing genes, but traditional oncology agents (including chemotherapy) may also be used, typically in combination with antineoplastons. This expanded direction of “personalized gene-targeted treatment" has permitted people who would otherwise be denied access to the still-unapproved antineoplastons to benefit from his treatment.

The War on Cancer Cures

As the first film in this series clearly revealed, the FDA began scheming to eliminate the threat Dr. Burzynski and his discovery posed to the cancer industry as early as 1977, when Dr. Burzynski first tried to get antineoplastons approved.
The reason he was (and still is) considered a significant threat to the cancer industry is because he’s the sole patent holder of the treatment, which means he’s the sole beneficiary, should the FDA approve Antineoplastons—not a pharmaceutical company and the bosses thereof.
As a matter of fact, Dr. Burzynski is the first and only scientist in United States’ history to enter the federal drug approval process for a proprietary cancer therapy without any financial support from the American government, the pharmaceutical industry, or the cancer establishment.
Vast amounts of money are at stake, since FDA approval of Antineoplastons would not only threaten conventional chemotherapy and radiation, it would also result in billions of dollars of cancer research funds being funneled over to the one single scientist who has exclusive patent rights—Dr. Burzynski.
The sad fact is, as stated by Dr. Julian Whitaker in the featured film, that true medical breakthroughs are suppressed these days because they “put at risk the entire financial underpinnings” of medicine.
If a medical breakthrough replaces failing therapies, the cash flow and profits of those failing therapies are lost forever, and the industry simply chooses profits over cures... Instead of investing in actual cures, medicine, over the past five decades, has invested in awareness campaigns. But, as Dr. Whitaker points out, awareness does not cure the disease, and will never lead to a cure, no matter how much money is raised by these campaigns, for the simple fact that there’s too much vested interest in therapies that fail and perpetuate a money-making disease.

In recent years, the focus for cancer therapy has increasingly shifted toward individualized gene-targeted cancer treatment, such as that provided by Dr. Burzynski for the past decade. So it’s no wonder, really, that the industry has tried so hard to get rid of him, in order to protect their own profits and access to research funds. Burzynski—Cancer is Serious Business, picks up where the first movie left off, detailing Dr. Burzynski’s continued struggles and victories, and explores the current status of Antineoplastons’ clinical testing, now sanctioned by the FDA. It also follows the progress of several of his patients. As described in the film’s synopsis:¹

Incredibly, in August of last year, America's National Cancer Institute (NCI) finally acknowledged and cited some of Burzynski's peer-reviewed Antineoplaston studies, as well as findings by Japanese researchers who have been independently reproducing Antineoplaston clinical trial studies since the 1980's, without any involvement by Dr. Burzynski. One of the most remarkable admissions by The National Cancer Institute is the following:²

"A Phase II study also conducted by the developer and his associates at his clinic reported on 12 patients with recurrent diffuse intrinsic brainstem glioma. Of the 10 patients who were evaluable, two achieved complete tumor response, three had partial tumor response, three had stable disease, and two had progressive disease."

What’s truly remarkable about this is that a brainstem glioma has simply never been cured before in the history of medicine—Antineoplastons hold the first cures ever!  (NaturalNews) If you didn't know any better, you might think that our nation is in its death throes, based on the number of scandals that have broken in the past four or five years and the fact that the behavior of too many of our elected - and appointed - officials ranges from the disgusting to the criminal.

Among other violations of the Constitution and the public trust, the Obama administration has refused to enforce certain laws with which the president simply disagreed; ran a botched gun-walking operation into Mexico called "Fast and Furious," in which a U.S. border agent was killed with one of the guns; has expanded an NSA domestic spying operation begun under the Bush administration (under provisions of the USA Patriot Act); has used the IRS to target political opponents; and allowed a U.S. ambassador to be killed in Libya for purely political reasons.

Now comes word that a State Department official may be guilty of "selling visas for sex and money in what may have been a massive human trafficking operation," The Daily Caller reports.

Want a visa? Pay me and sex me up

Per the website:

The State Department acknowledged last week that one of its officials is the target of a probe over "allegations of improprieties relating to a Consular Officer formerly assigned to Georgetown, Guyana" without providing further details. Local media are also claiming the official, who was recently withdrawn from normal duties pending completion of an official investigation, associated with drug lords as part of his visa scam.

The report said the scandal evolved as executives and tourists alike complained their visa applications were being delayed, and local media outlets began reporting that one visa official had been demanding bribes and sexual favors in exchange for approving the visas.

"The Daily Caller has identified the suspect as Edy Zohar Rodrigues Duran, formerly of Mission, Texas, and currently living in Falls Church, Va.," the website reported.

Apparently Duran was eventually removed from his position in Georgetown, the capital of Guyana, in June - months shy of his scheduled departure date of September 2013, said Mark A. Benschop and Julia Johnson, a pair of Guyanese journalists who agreed to speak with the DC from Guyana.

The DC said it wasn't clear whether the State Department employee was fired or whether he was simply placed on administrative leave. That said, the website reported that Duran has created a dating profile in which he says he is looking for employment in the Falls Church area (a quick check of the URL identified in The DC story by Natural News discovered that the account has since been closed).

Officials began investigating allegations surrounding Duran in February; he left Georgetown in late June.

A bid to keep things quiet...

A subsequent report in the Guyana Observer News said Duran has been "accused of selling visas to many corrupt businessmen [and] drug dealers ... for as low as US$15,000." It added: "The Feds have not stumbled on concrete evidence on the issue of money for visas, but sufficient evidence on the sex for visas." That report is here.

In addition, Agence France Presse reported in early July that the U.S. embassy there was "investigating allegations that a consular officer who worked at the post was selling visas for thousands of dollars."

Quoting a Guyanese official the AFP reported that Duran "had negotiated to sell visas for as much as $40,000, using a popular restaurant and bar in Georgetown, the capital of this former British colony, to seal the deals." The report also said that Duran would sometimes travel to neighboring Suriname, which is a frequent stopover destination for Chinese migrants heading to the U.S.

"The embassy wanted a hush-hush on this whole affair," Benschop, a radio host and publisher of the Observer, told The DC. Duran was "demoted from the marriage and visa section and placed in a warehouse far away from the embassy. His tour of duty would have come to an end in September. All of these things caused eyebrows to be raised."

Former head of Fukushima nuclear plant dies of cancer

(NaturalNews) In an ironic twist of fate, the former head of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power facility in eastern Japan has died, according to new reports. After battling a bout of throat cancer that emerged just months after the stricken plant was overrun by a historic tsunami and subsequent earthquake, 58-year-old Masao Yoshida died at a Tokyo hospital from a condition that many others will likely also develop in the years to come as a result of Fukushima radiation poisoning.

The Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), which owns the facility where at least three nuclear reactors either partially or fully melted down, insists that Yoshida's cancer and eventual death were not the result of radiation poisoning from the plant. It would take at least five years, the company has claimed, for radiation from the plant to develop into full-fledged cancer.

But the circumstances surrounding the timing of Yoshida's cancer diagnosis and his work at the plant following the disaster seem to tell a different story. Unlike many other TEPCO officials, Yoshida remained onsite at the failed plant in the days and weeks following the disaster, putting himself at serious risk of developing chronic illness. According to the U.K.'s Telegraph, Yoshida led efforts to get the Fukushima plant under control following the disaster, even though aftershocks and a cascade of plant failures threatened to its undoing.

In November 2011, however, just eight months after the initial disaster occurred, Yoshida was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Not long after, he underwent surgery for this cancer, and subsequently developed a brain hemorrhage, which resulted in him having to have another operation nearly one year later. And less than one year after this second surgery, Yoshida died.

"Yoshida is believed to have prevented the world's worst atomic accident in 25 years after the Chernobyl catastrophe in 1986," reads an RT.com piece about Yoshida's work at the plant. "It was Yoshida's own decision to disobey HQ orders to stop using seawater to cool the reactors. Instead, he continued to do so and saved the active zones from overheating and exploding. Had he obeyed the order, the whole of north eastern Japan would possibly have been uninhabitable for decades, if not centuries."

Fukushima radiation levels high enough to have triggered Yoshida's throat cancer

In its arbitrary pronouncement that Yoshida's cancer was unrelated to Fukushima radiation, TEPCO failed to acknowledge a key aspect of the disaster -- radiation levels were unusually high as a result of all the meltdowns, melt-throughs, and explosions. Of course, TEPCO has long denied the severity of all this, so it is to be expected that the company would also deny that radiation from the plant could have been a cause of Yoshida's cancer.

But it does not take a rocket scientist to connect the dots. Being in insanely close proximity to untold levels of ionizing radiation for all those months was sure to have had an accelerated effect on Yoshida's health, not to mention the health of other onsite workers. This would explain why adults and especially children living in nearby areas of Japan are also developing cancers and other health problems at a much higher rate than normal.

"Even 70 millisieverts is 70 times the yearly dose considered 'safe' for humans," wrote one commenter on an ENENews.com article, referring to TEPCO's downplaying of the radiation dose received by Yoshida in the aftermath of the disaster. "This was not even a whole year. And generally TEPCO's estimates can be multiplied by 10. He was 'nuked' for sure."
