Remember how all the conspiracy nuts claimed the chemicals BP was dumping in the water might actually evaporate into the air and then rain down on the Gulf States, poisoning land, water, and of course, people?
And remember how the government officials said, “No, no, no! That could NEVER happen. Not to worry! … But we’re not going to let scientists look at the data we’ve collected…”
And how people kept turning up with what looked like chemical sickness, even though it was (of course) impossible?
It wasn’t impossible. A NASA scientist has started releasing some of that hitherto unavailable data. And it’s not pretty.
The data being released, which was collected by the NASA missions to the Gulf, shows that the toxic compounds released from the BP spill became airborne, and significant quantities were brought onshore by precipitation, thereby exposing coastal populations to chemical poisoning. This represents something new and unique not observed in previous oil spills. It helps explain why there were numerous reports by people living along the Gulf Coast that it was raining oil and dispersant during the summer months.
“The data we collected in the atmosphere shows a very high hydrocarbon load and we were able to identify more than 100 compounds in it. Many of them have health implications. There were large amounts of them and they have similarities to gasoline. In that regard the modeling I did seems to suggest that there are reasons for concern. There are reasons to do additional research.”
The scientist: Ira Leifer, Ph.D from University of California Santa Barbara. He was The Chief Mission Coordinating Scientist on the NASA remote sensing mission to the BP oil spill in the Gulf Of Mexico, and he’s a ten-year veteran of oil spills (as well as natural methane bubble flows).
What was so different about the BP spill? He laid it out for Jerry Cope at the Huffington Post;
* Volume of dispersants: Previous spills were small, leading to one-day exposures. The BP exposure lasted months.
* Seeing it in the rain: “People at California Oil Spill who have done testing on burning have never seen anything like that. But you don’t have 102% humidity in California.”
And the problems are unprecedented as well:
* Most cleanup workers were not wearing masks or other protection.
* We don’t know what their exposure levels were, since no measurements were taken.
* We don’t know the risks, because for these toxins, no long-term tests have been done.
* “The big worry is pregnant women and the elderly — at risk populations. In that regard, at-risk populations, the levels seem to suggest there could be really severe concern for the health-related impacts.”
* If we don’t deal with this wisely, there’s a danger that we’ll see a “mysterious Gulf Coast Health Syndrome appearing five years from now that nobody figures out what it is until 10 years from now with a lot of people getting sick and very ill in the interim.”

CONFIRMED: Border Agent Terry Was FORCED TO USE BEANBAGS Against Armed Mexican Killers in AZ Before He Was Shot Dead
The outrageous rumors were true.
Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was forced to use beanbags against armed Mexican killers before he was shot dead in Arizona in December.
Agent Brian Terry was forced to defend himself and this country with beanbags.
The Arizona Daily Star reported:
Border Patrol agents shot beanbags at a group of suspected bandits before the men returned fire during a confrontation in a remote canyon, killing agent Brian Terry with a single gunshot, records show.
And an illegal immigrant wounded in the gunbattle who is now the only person in custody linked to the slaying contends he never fired a shot, according to FBI search warrant requests filed in the U.S. District Court in Tucson.
The documents provide the most detailed version yet of what happened in the deadly gunbattle Dec. 14 in Peck Canyon, northwest of Nogales.
The documents say the group of illegal border entrants refused commands to drop their weapons after agents confronted them at about 11:15 p.m. Two agents fired beanbags at the migrants, who responded with gunfire. Two agents returned fire, one with a long gun and one with a pistol, but Terry was mortally wounded in the gunfight.
Border Patrol officials declined to answer questions about protocol for use of force, citing the ongoing investigation.
But Terry’s brother, Kent Terry, said the other agents who were there that night told him that they were instructed to use the non-lethal beanbags first. It’s a policy that doesn’t make sense to Kent Terry.
“You go up against a bandit crew that is carrying AKs, and you walk out there with guns loaded with beanbags – I don’t get it,” Terry said in a phone interview from Michigan. “It’s like going to the Iraqi war with one knife. It boggles my mind. … These guys (Border Patrol agents) are professionals; they should be able to use their judgment call on their own.”
But, don’t worry.
Barack Obama says the border is as safe today as it’s ever been.

Obama declares state governors will enforce health care bill whether they like it or not
Obama declares state governors will enforce health care bill whether they like it or not
(NaturalNews) At a recent meeting with US state governors in Washington, DC, President Obama made clear his intent to force the individual states to comply with his unconstitutional health care overhaul. Twenty-six states have already filed federal lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the bill -- and some judges have already declared it to be null and void -- prior to the announcement.
Clearly overstepping his constitutional bounds, Obama chided states for even questioning the bill, despite the fact that it will likely plunge every one of them into irreparable bankruptcy. He also declared a refusal to allow states to "weaken" the bill in any way, even though two federal judges have already ruled it to be unconstitutional (http://www.naturalnews.com/030716_O...).
In eerily dictator-style fashion, Obama stated to the governors that they are free to come up with modifications to the bill that will help make it enforceable more quickly, but that any attempts to dismantle it will not be tolerated. Such a proposition, of course, is a gross violation of the law, as a president cannot arbitrarily oppose the will of the judicial branch and demand that unconstitutional provisions be enforced.
The Tenth Amendment to the US Constitution states that the powers not granted to the federal government -- which happen to include issues involving health care and all attempts to mandate that people purchase coverage -- are reserved to the states or to the people. Ironically, this means that the ones who should be lawfully calling the shots in this case are the governors, not Obama.
This gross violation of the law and the arrogant and threatening way it is being played out by the Obama administration perfectly illustrates why the states right now need to reassert their rightful authority over the out-of-control federal government. Obama has no lawful right to demand that the states enforce his unconstitutional bill, which is why groups like The Tenth Amendment Center (http://www.tenthamendmentcenter.com/) are working hard to help states oppose it.

Massive animal cloning research project ended due to 90 percent death rate and 'unnecessary suffering'
Massive animal cloning research project ended due to 90 percent death rate and 'unnecessary suffering'
(NaturalNews) New Zealand-based research organization AgResearch has abandoned its 13-year animal cloning research program after it proved to be an abysmal failure. A company report states that "only 10 percent of the cloned animals survived through the research trials," and it also admits that the animals underwent "unnecessary suffering" in the process.
For years, AgResearch has unsuccessfully tried to modify animals to create more milk, grow faster, resist disease, and even unnaturally grow special proteins from genetically-modified animal embryos for use in human drugs. But reports indicate that most of the animals used in its trials experienced severe pain and suffering as a result, while the vast majority of them ended up dying from either spontaneous abortions or hydrops, a condition where a cow's uterus fills with water and results in the mother having to be euthanized.
"The decision was made, enough is enough," said Jimmy Suttie, General Manager of AgResearch Applied Biotechnologies, concerning the scrapping of the program.
Though the statement infers an end to cloning research at AgResearch, the company has other cloning plans in the works. Reports indicate that the company plans to now move forward with another cloning project that involves transgenic technology. And the new research may result in the same or worse results because it uses embryonic stem cells to clone animals -- and virtually all research involving embryonic stem cells, both in humans and animals, has been a complete failure.
Like the genetic engineering of plants, animal cloning is chock full of unknowns. Besides the fact that cloning is largely unsuccessful in the first place, consumption of cloned animal products by humans has never been proven to be safe. Nevertheless, regulatory bodies both in the US and abroad have carelessly allowed cloned foods to slip into the food supply, endangering the health of untold numbers of people (http://www.naturalnews.com/029411_c...).
