Humboldt County, California voters passed measures F and J last November prohibiting military recruiters from initiating contact with minors. Now the Obama administration is demanding that the law be overturned. A court hearing is scheduled for June 9 in Oakland, California. The measures which passed by a large margin allow recruitment to occur if the minor initiates contact. Federal government lawyers claim “irreparable harm” if the laws stand.
The cities of Eureka and Arcata cite international treaties which prohibit recruitment of children under 17. If the Cities prevail over the Obama administration in court, the legislation could likely be brought before voters in communities across the nation. Enforcement of the laws is on hold pending the court action.
The author of the legislation, Dave Meserve, described the ordinances as protecting youth from slick and persistent professional salesmen who identify the children as “prospects” though never reveal the facts that 18% of Iraq war veterans return with traumatic brain injuries and 20% with diagnosed post traumatic stress disorder.
“The federal government sets no minimum age limit below which recruiters may not contact kids to promote military enlistment” writes Meserve. An official Recruiter Handbook has this advice: “You will find that establishing trust and credibility with students, even seventh and eighth graders, has a strong impact on your high school and post-secondary school recruiting efforts.”
While minors can’t enlist without parental consent they can be signed up in the Delayed Entry Program, where they commit to enlistment after they turn eighteen. Those who have second thoughts are routinely misinformed about their right to rescind the commitment, in many instances the highly pressured recruiters resort to false threats of prosecution.
Dawn Blanken, a counselor with the GI Rights Hotline, has written that a common problem voiced by callers is that promises are made by the recruiter that cannot be kept. “A promised job (MOS), a particular base, school, a non-deploying assignment, all disappear when the recruit arrives at basic training. Often soldiers accept this situation, complete their training and move forward.” However, as an example, “a seventeen year old, in a single parent household, with younger siblings, and a mother undergoing treatment for cancer, is vulnerable to promises (often misrepresented) of pay, benefits, assignments, education and “career opportunities” available through enlistment that a more mature adult would be able to analyze more critically.”
Soldiers can be reassigned to a different branch of the military. Some are misled into enlistment, being told they can “opt out” after arriving at basic training by “just talking” with their drill instructor. In the army once a recruit reports for basic training the recruiters quota is credited. “As a result of this misinformation, many of these kids go AWOL from basic training, or their first duty station, then call the Hotline for information.”
In her counseling, Blanken has found that “recruits who experience difficulties during training risk being victims of violence perpetrated by squad leaders, fellow recruits, and even instructors, who become frustrated at the struggling soldierʼs limitations, or failures, and resort to violence as a motivational tool and a method to affect morale in the rest of the unit. This violence and hazing is always debilitating, sometimes disabling, and occasionally deadly. Some complete their training and even a deployment, but can, even years into their term of service, get into trouble over issues stemming from recruitment violations. These problems can result in disciplinary issues and action against them, or charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and court martial and the discharges these people can receive can impede their future education and career goals. The worst cases end in suicide.”

In a sold-out event billed as their first conversation on stage since they left office, Bush and Clinton disagreed politely about a couple of issues, backed each other on others and refused to criticize anything current President Barack Obama was doing.
Bush’s vice president, Dick Cheney, has emerged as one of Obama’s toughest critics and the staunchest defender of the Bush administration’s policies after the Sept. 11 attacks.
But Bush, saying he had hated it when former presidents criticized him after he took office, said, “Anything I say is not to be critical of my successor … (there are) plenty of critics in American society.”
Bush, who has stayed mostly out of the public eye since leaving the White House in January, said he was enjoying the freedom of being a private citizen but thanked the Toronto organizers “for giving me something to do.”
The two-term Republican president from Texas said he had been taking on chores dictated by his wife, Laura, and had discovered the challenges of cleaning up after pets as he walked the family dog, Barney, around their Dallas neighborhood.
“There I was, the former president, with a plastic bag on my hand, picking up that which I had dodged for eight solid years,” Bush said to laughs from the 6,000-strong audience.

The Boston Police Department is preparing a plan to arm as many as 200 patrol officers with semiautomatic assault rifles, a significant boost in firepower that department leaders believe is necessary to counter terrorist threats, according to law enforcement officials briefed on the plan.
The initiative calls for equipping specialized units, such as the bomb squad and harbor patrol, with the high-powered long-range M16 rifles first, the officials said. The department would then distribute the weapons to patrol officers in neighborhood precincts over the next several months, according to the two law enforcement officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they did not have permission to speak publicly.
The officials did not know exactly when the department planned to start handing out the rifles but said police officials already have acquired the guns.
Police department spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll declined to discuss any details of the plan yesterday. She said the plan was still in an “inquiry stage.”"

Despite the well-known benefits of having a lifestyle that includes physical activity, eating a diet high in fruits and vegetables, maintaining a healthy weight, moderate alcohol use and not smoking, only a small proportion of adults follow this healthy lifestyle pattern, and in fact, the numbers are declining, according to an article published in the June 2009 issue of The American Journal of Medicine.
Lifestyle choices are associated with the risk of cardiovascular disease as well as diabetes.
Investigators from the Department of Family Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston compared the results of two large-scale studies of the US population in 1988-1994 and in 2001-2006. In the intervening 18 years, the percentage of adults aged 40-74 years with a body mass index greater than 30 has increased from 28% to 36%; physical activity 12 times a month or more has decreased from 53% to 43%; smoking rates have not changed (26.9% to 26.1%); eating 5 or more fruits and vegetables a day has decreased from 42% to 26%; and moderate alcohol use has increased from 40% to 51%. The number of people adhering to all 5 healthy habits has decreased from 15% to 8%."

ATLANTA (May 29) -- Scientists have identified a lethal new virus in Africa that causes bleeding like the dreaded Ebola virus. The so-called "Lujo" virus infected five people in Zambia and South Africa last fall. Four of them died, but a fifth survived, perhaps helped by a medicine recommended by the scientists.
It's not clear how the first person became infected, but the bug comes from a family of viruses found in rodents, said Dr. Ian Lipkin, a Columbia University epidemiologist involved in the discovery.
"This one is really, really aggressive" he said of the virus.
A paper on the virus by Lipkin and his collaborators was published online Thursday on in PLoS Pathogens.
The outbreak started in September, when a female travel agent who lives on the outskirts of Lusaka, Zambia, became ill with a fever-like illness that quickly grew much worse.

One of the newest energy lobbyists claims he has the answer to climate change: spaceships.
The government has in its possession "extraterrestrial vehicles," lobbyist Stephen Bassett said. As in flying saucers.
Imagine the power source, he said, behind a 30-foot wide saucer that weighs the same as a tractor-trailer yet hurtles through galaxies at 20,000 miles per hour.
"What is the energy system operating that craft?" Bassett said. "They're not burning kerosene."
He added, "It eliminates oil. It eliminates coal. If it's as good as we think it is, it transforms everything."
No more ozone hole or melting polar ice caps, Bassett said. And the price of electricity would drop to almost nothing.
Bassett believes this. Fervently.
He is working for free as a lobbyist, representing the Hawaii-based Exopolitics Institute, an educational organization which describes itself as "dedicated to studying the key actors, institutions and political processes associated with extraterrestrial life." Bassett said he is less lobbyist and more political activist.
"The UFO phenomenon is real," Bassett said. "The E.T. extraterrestrial presence is real."
Bassett's been lobbying about seven months, targeting the science and technology, and defense and aviation angles. He added energy to his portfolio in a Senate filing last week.
He has spoken to lawmakers in the past, Bassett said, but he's writing off lobbying Congress for now, calling the extraterrestrial issue "the third rail" of politics. Besides, he and other believers have a bigger name on their list.
"Knowing that Congress could not act," Bassett said, "what we did was focus on the executive branch, the White House."
Those who believe the truth is out there have been waiting for someone like President Obama to come clean about the government hiding information on extraterrestrials, Bassett said. Obama would be "sensitive to the concerns of the military intelligence community," Bassett said, plus he is popular worldwide, and he "has the intelligence to handle it."
Bassett and fellow believers during the presidential campaign launched the "Million Fax on Washington" and have been sending Obama faxes and e-mails and leaving voice mail messages asking him to admit that E.T. is real. Documents should be released. There should be congressional hearings. And that spaceship technology should be made available to the public.
Odds that this will happen are improving, Bassett said. Obama has friends backing a release of all information on extraterrestrials. Those friends include John Podesta, president and CEO of the progressive Center for American Progress.
"John has been supportive of efforts by groups who have pushed for government transparency," said John Neurohr, a Center for American Progress spokesman. "But he has not talked with President Obama about the issue."
One energy analyst said it is not surprising that among the great diversity of energy lobbyists there is one who wants to expose a UFO cover-up.
"I hope he's right. Wouldn't it be cool?" said Jerry Taylor, senior fellow and energy analyst with the libertarian Cato Institute. "Good luck to him. Hopefully, the magic energy machine will be coming our way shortly."

With budget deficits soaring and President Obama pushing a trillion-dollar-plus expansion of health coverage, some Washington policymakers are taking a fresh look at a money-making idea long considered politically taboo: a national sales tax.
Common around the world, including in Europe, such a tax — called a value-added tax, or VAT — has not been seriously considered in the United States. But advocates say few other options can generate the kind of money the nation will need to avert fiscal calamity.
At a White House conference earlier this year on the government’s budget problems, a roomful of tax experts pleaded with Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner to consider a VAT. A recent flurry of books and papers on the subject is attracting genuine, if furtive, interest in Congress. And last month, after wrestling with the White House over the massive deficits projected under Obama’s policies, the chairman of the Senate Budget Committee declared that a VAT should be part of the debate."

The US is creating a stealth default on its debt by continuing to issue massive amounts of money and credit and in the process devaluing the dollar. This, of course, is fraud, but other nations have defrauded the US for years by cheapening their currencies and subsidizing goods and services. China may be upset as others are, but they have totally subsidized their economy and they have been the worst offenders in cheapening their currency. What do they call their current $1.25 trillion effort to keep their growth above 8%? They have 30 million unemployed and frankly fear a revolution. Chinese policy was to sell goods to America, which was unable to pay for those goods. Their $2 trillion in US denominated assets will probably end up being worth $1 trillion and they knew that going in. They wanted the market and they’ll have to pay the price. US Treasury and Fed issuance is going to get worse not better – it’s going to be that way for sometime to come. No aggregates are going to be pulled from the system. If the US does that the financial system will collapse. There is going to be massive inflation and what China should be doing is dumping dollars by buying gold. They have not anticipated the fall in US stock and bond markets and the derivative bomb. American assets, including bonds, will get badly trashed. We wrote of all this in June of 2002, but no one was listening. We could not even envision the affects of mark-to-model and the worthless balance sheets of corporate America, particularly in the financial sector. Within four years and more likely in two to three years the US will default on treasury and Agency debt. That should take the dollar in USDX terms to 40. It is now just below 80. China obviously feels the yields offered on US paper on the long end are not worth the play. They have been buying bills instead in the short-term market that the Fed has to support.
Today investors cannot conceive how bad this depression is going to get. Even the Bilderbergs see they cannot handle what is coming and want to reverse the process.

Custody holdings for foreign central banks have been expanding at 20% ytd, and were up $433 billion yoy, or 19%.
Bank credit fell $34.4 billion and it is up 3.6% yoy. Securities credit was up $6.1 billion; loans and leases fell $40.6 billion; C&I loans fell $9 billion and real estate loans fell $24 billion. Consumer loans fell $8.4 billion and securities loans were little changed. Other loans rose $0.6 billion.
M2 narrow money supply rose $8.9 billion. It is up 3.9% ytd. Total money market funds dropped $16 billion to $3.774 trillion. The dollar index fell 3.6% to 80.05.

There is also the matter of US debt going into the stratosphere and the increase in interest rates in the demand for higher yields to combat coming inflation.
Based on nominal growth over the next ten years the CBO, the Congressional Budget Office, believes that GDP will grow 50%. There is not a chance that will happen. In fact, we could have no growth over that period. Yet, the proposed administration plan is to increase spending 50%. This shows you the desperation and stupidity of what is going on in Washington. Their only plan is to inflate until the system collapses. The robust recovery will only bring our negative GDP down to even as the stimulus package spreads its benefits. That will be some feat with real U6 unemployment at 19.2% to 19.8%. These facts and government projections will sink not only the dollar, but also sink the entire economy. America is looking at deficits of more than $1 trillion a year as far as the eye can see. Doesn’t anyone understand the impact of such borrowing? What foreigners can be stupid enough to lend to us unless yields are perhaps 15% on treasuries. That means the alternative is massive monetization and wild inflation. Making matters worse the whole world is experiencing the same problems. GDP growth has fallen 8% in Britain; 21% in Mexico; 14% in Germany and 15% in Japan. Chinese exports are down 41%, Japanese 38% and Germany’s 32%. The value of outstanding loans in Spain has fallen from $445 billion to $47 billion. They had risen between 2000 and 2008 by 850%. That was almost 50% of Spanish GDP. This is a direct product of the ECB, European Central Bank policy, of one interest rate for all 16 members, which is idiotic. Real unemployment in Spain is far above 20%. Ireland, due to the same misguided monetary policy, is almost as badly off. Both Spain and Ireland are insolvent.
Europeans, deceived by bogus securities ratings by Moody’s, S&P and Fitch, are even worse off than US banks. Thus far the Fed has bailed out European banks, but that cannot go on indefinitely. Oddly we see no civil and criminal actions against American banks and securities industry or the rating companies, which tells us they knew exactly what they were buying – toxic waste.
The money raising dynamic for the Treasury is overwhelming. 30-year fixed rate mortgages should be around 5% this shortened week. The Treasury needs to raise $2 trillion this year of which the Fed has already monetized about $300 billion, plus the Fed is buying $900 billion in toxic waste. This is $1.2 trillion in monetization by the Fed.
On Tuesday the Fed is selling $40 billion of 2-year bills, $35 billion of 5-year notes and $25 billion of 7-year bonds. We wonder if the Fed will suffer the indignity of its first failed auction. $100 billion is a lot of money. US Treasuries may face a crowding out process, as governments collectively will have to place $6 trillion in debt this year. That means international business will find it even harder raising money in the future. The US has already lost control of long rates, just look at how easily and cleanly the 10-year notes and the 30-year bonds broke their 200-day moving averages. Markets are choking on debt. The end result will be US stagflation and a falling dollar, along with higher yields. The Fed claims it has only bought $116 billion of monetized Treasuries, but we believe that number is higher. The Fed won’t raise interest rates, but the market is going too.

Dr. Yuri Labvin, president of the Tunguska Spatial Phenomenon Foundation, insists that an alien spacecraft sacrificed itself to prevent a gigantic meteor from slamming into the planet above Siberia on June 30, 1908.

Olive oil comes from olives, peanut oil from peanuts, sunflower oil from sunflowers; but what is a canola? There was nothing on the label to enlighten me, which I thought odd. So, I did some investigating on the Internet. There are plenty of official Canola sites lauding this new 'wonder' oil with all its low-fat health benefits. It takes a little longer to find sites that tell the less palatable details.
Here are just a few facts everyone should know before buying anything containing canola. Canola is not the name of a natural plant but a made-up word, from the words 'Canada' and 'oil'. Canola is a genetically engineered plant developed in Canada from the Rapeseed Plant, which is part of the mustard family of plants. According to AgriAlternative s, The Online Innovation, and Technology Magazine for Farmers, 'By nature, these rapeseed oils, which have long been used to produce oils for industrial purposes, are... toxic to humans and other animals'. United Nations officials in Afghanistan are attempting to create a “flood of drugs” in the country intended to destroy the value of opium and force poppy farmers to switch to legal crops such as wheat.
After the failure to destroy fields of the scarlet flowers in Afghanistan’s volatile south, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime says the answer is to stop the drugs from leaving the country in the first place.
“Manual eradication is incompetent and inefficient,” UNODC chief Antonio Maria Costa said during a visit to the western Afghan province of Herat. “So we want to see more efforts to stop the flow of drugs across Afghanistan’s borders and the hitting of high-value targets to create a market disruption.
“We want to create a flood of drugs within Afghanistan. There will be so much opium inside Afghanistan unable to go out that the price will go down.”
Officials admit that the plan is a second-best solution to intensive eradication campaigns. Last year the Afghan government succeeded in destroying only 3.5% of Afghanistan’s 157,000 hectares of poppy because eradication teams were either attacked or bought off by local drug lords. The mother of Bronx terror suspect David Williams said the government snitch who cozied up to her son promised him a liver transplant for his dying brother - and even drove the pea-brained plotter to Queens to face charges of groping a woman on a city bus.

Amidst the cacophony of condemnation from all sides following North Korea’s second nuclear bomb test, there has been no mention whatsoever of how the secretive Stalinist state got its weapons in the first place - they were paid for by the U.S. government.

The study of the role that these biological particles play in cloud formation could help refine one of the biggest uncertainties left in climate change predictions — how clouds influence climate.
Scientists have long known that microorganisms, or parts of them, can become airborne and travel great distances. Leaves fall off trees, dry up and crumble then get whisked away by the wind, for example. The same can happen to fungal spores and even bacteria. Whether any of the airborne microbes are still alive or not, the scientists can't say, because they did not test for that.
Likewise, laboratory experiments have shown that these particles (along with dust and other aerosols, or tiny particles suspended in the air) can act as ice nuclei, the skeletons of clouds. Around these nuclei, water and ice in the atmosphere condense and grow, forming clouds and eventually perhaps leading to precipitation."

Judging by the line today outside the old stone Masonic Lodge in Park Ridge, one might think something very valuable was being given away.
And it was: Dozens of families lined up along Kinderkamack Avenue to take advantage of the Fulton-Friendship Lodge’s Child Identification Program which, through collecting data about youngsters in case they go missing, helps parents retain some precious things they already have.
“Basically, what we do is take a child and get their fingerprints, picture, a video and a dental imprint in case of a [kidnapping],” said Raul Ramos, a program representative from the New Jersey Grand Lodge Committee.
“Then the parents take this home and have all of the information so if, God
forbid, something happens, they can take that to the police to help find the child.”
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., parents swarmed the building on the first day of the free Mason-sponsored program, getting their children’s information recorded and then moving on to enjoy food, music and games in the parking lot.
“I wanted to get a microchip [implanted in their skin], but they wouldn’t do it,” joked Yale Glazer, of Montvale, as he shared popcorn with his daughter Ryan, 6, and son Justin, 4, and watched an acoustic band. “But this is great too. Every little bit helps, if it comes to that.”
Nearly 800,000 children are reported missing each year, according to the U.S. Justice Department. To combat this, the program, also called CHIPs, has given more than 5,000 ID kits valued at $30 apiece to parents in New Jersey.
The most helpful thing about the information in the kits, which include DNA samples, is that it’s universal, said Rick Farraj, the lodge’s program coordinator.
“This is something you can use right in your own neighborhood, but you can also take it on vacation,” he said. “The same information will help authorities in Jamaica. Even INTERPOL can use it.”
And it’s not just for children, Farraj and Ramos said. Elderly people with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia can also benefit from the program, which will return to the lodge from noon to 5 p.m. Monday after the triborough Memorial Day parade.
“It’s great protection,” Julie Wolfe, of Park Ridge, said as she fed her 8-month-old daughter Sydney from a bottle and kept an eye on 4-year-old Ryan. “Especially for me; I’m one of those overprotective parents.”
Once going through the program, she joked, the only thing left to worry about is losing the information.
“Now, we just need to keep this in a safe place,” she said.

Currently, when drivers are cited during traffic stops, police officers ask for the driver’s signature on the ticket, but the proposed bill would allow police departments to eliminate signatures and collect fingerprints.
Supporters say collecting fingerprints would save money and help police determine whether the driver is wanted for a criminal offense, but opponents worry that it allows the government to tread on individual privacy rights.
“The way I see it, if they take your fingerprint, they have access to your history and that’s an invasion of privacy,” said Martha Simms, 27, a mother of two who recently got a speeding ticket in Davidson County.
State Sen. Joe Haynes and State Rep. Mike Stewart co-sponsored the bill, which gives police departments the choice of collecting a signature or a fingerprint, or collecting a signature and a fingerprint. The bill has been approved by the state House of Representatives, and senators will vote on the measure Wednesday.

The World Health Organization has changed its view on the criteria for raising its global flu alert, saying on Friday that it needed to see signs of severe effects before declaring a Phase 6 pandemic is underway.
“What we are looking for and what we will be looking for is something, events which signify a really substantial increase in risk of harm to people,” Keiji Fukuda, the WHO’s acting assistant director-general, told a news briefing.
The WHO previously said its six-point scale reflected only the way a virus is spreading, not is severity. Fukuda said the U.N. agency was now seeking signals that “the risks for people have significantly gone up” before moving the alert from the current Phase 5.

Swine flu could soon become resistant to Tamiflu, the drug being stockpiled to fight it, say Government scientists.
A strain of seasonal flu closely related to the swine virus has already mutated so that Tamiflu is virtually useless against it.
But the Government is spending more than £100million to bring Britain’s stockpile of Tamiflu up to 50million doses – enough for 80 per cent of the population.
Dr Steve Gamblin, the joint head of molecular structure at the National Institute for MedicalResearch, told The Mail on Sunday that the mutation renders Tamiflu about 250 times less effective than it should be.
‘Our research suggests that if Tamiflu is used extensively, mutant swine flu viruses that are resistant to the drug may well arise,’ said Dr Gamblin.
‘Instead of relying on Tamiflu alone, it would be better to use a cocktail of Tamiflu and Relenza,’ – another anti-viral drug to which, so far, flu viruses have not developed resistance.

A CBS News clip out of California that was prominently featured on the front page of Yahoo.com today showed the LAPD melting down 40,000lbs worth of “illegal weapons” to ‘”prevent them ending up on the streets in the hands of criminals” and yet most of the guns shown were perfectly legal and were handed in by law-abiding citizens who had kept them in their own homes.
The sheer gall of the propaganda on show here is staggering, because for anyone who doesn’t have a decent knowledge of firearms, the clip leaves the impression that guns are illegal and owned by criminals - despite the fact that the vast majority of the guns shown being melted down, many of them rifles and pistols, are perfectly legal.
“We’re taking illegal weapons off the streets and putting them to better use,” states the LAPD officer at the end of the clip, failing to mention the fact that most of the guns being destroyed are perfectly legal and were handed in by law-abiding citizens who had kept them at home.
The anchor states, “Weapons that could have ended up in the hands of criminals are melted down,” implying that the LAPD is doing everyone a favor by destroying legal firearms owned by law-abiding citizens.

Elizabeth Cheney told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that her father decided to speak out after he learned there was a possibility of legal action.
“He certainly did not plan when he left office to be doing this,” Cheney’s daughter said. “But I think as we watched in those very first days and weeks after President Obama came into office when he released the memos that lay out for the terrorists — the techniques we used to question them. "I live in a Midwestern state. Near me is a huge shooting range, which is going to be put out of business by the EPA. Just before the completion of this article, the owner, call him W, of this particular range has unfortunately demanded that I not use his name or specify which range I am discussing in this article. I think this is a mistake on his part, but I have to honor it. Russians to be deliberately infected with swine flu
The Flu Research Institute in St. Petersburg began to recruit volunteers to be artificially infected with the swine flu virus which is currently raging in Mexico and the USA.
Doctors will select six test groups of 20 people. Each volunteer will receive a benefit of 5,000 rubles ($150).
“The same practice was applied while developing the bird flu vaccine,” scientists from the Institute say.
Several days ago, Russian microbiologists joined their efforts in the fight against the contagion. The H1N1 strains were transported to Russian laboratories from Mexico on a special flight. Now experts must develop the vaccine against the deadly disease as soon as possible and test it on humans.
Now the Institute has already begun the strictest selection of volunteers ready to test a new medicine based on the cells of the swine flu virus itself.
“The remedy will be made on the basis of a ‘natural vaccine’, namely the cells of the virus H1N1 itself, - Anna Saminina says. – They will be weakened to the degree when they can’t cause overall pathogenic reactions in a human body. But they will help the organism develop matching antibodies. We employed this practice fighting against bird flu. At that time, we selected a group of volunteers as well that tested the vaccine on themselves. Everything went off well. We hope now it will be good too”.
Despite the fact that doctors have taken a special sanitary control of all charter flights from the USA and Mexico in all Russian airports, scientists doubt that Russia can avoid swine flu. The first outbreak of the epidemic will hit not only Moscow, but also large regional traffic centers.
“The World Health Organization announced that up to seven million of people may die of this contagion, - a sanitary official in Novosibirsk Andrey Fedyanin says. – All passengers arriving from Mexico are examined for flu symptoms. Unfortunately, it cannot stop the virus. An infected individual may have no fever during the first week”.
